The 2007–08 Azerbaijan Premier League is the 16th season of Azerbaijan Premier League, the Azerbaijani professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. Khazar Lankaran were the defending champions, having won the previous season.

The Azerbaijan Cup 2009–10 was the 18th season of the annual cup competition in Azerbaijan. It started on 17 September 2009 with four games of the preliminary round and ended on 22 May 2009 with the Final held at Tofiq Bahramov Stadium in Baku. FK Karabakh were the defending champions. Khazar finished the season in 4th place and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the quarterfinal stage by Baku.

Petržela was replaced by Anatoliy Demyanenko on 5 January 2008. They finished 3rd in the league and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the semifinal stage by Inter Baku. Neftchi also took part in the UEFA Cup, being eliminated at the First qualifying round by SV Ried of Austria.

The Khazar Lankaran 2007–08 season was Khazar Lankaran's third Azerbaijan Premier League season. It was their second season under the management of Agaselim Mirjavadov. They finished 4th in the league and won the Azerbaijan Cup in extra-time against Inter Baku.

The Khazar Lankaran 2006–07 season was Khazar Lankaran's second Azerbaijan Premier League season. It was their first season under the management of Agaselim Mirjavadov. They completed a League and Cup double, winning both competitions for the first time.

The Qarabağ 2007–08 season was Qarabağ's 15th Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their only full season with Rasim Kara as their manager. They finished the season in 5th place, and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the Quarterfinal stage by Inter Baku.

The Olimpik Baku 2007–08 season was Olimpik Baku's third Azerbaijan Premier League season and their second season with Asgar Abdullayev as manager. The Inter Baku 2007–08 season was Inter Baku's seventh Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their second season under manager Valentin Khodukin. They finished won the league on goal difference over Olimpik Baku and where runners-up in the Cup.

The Olimpik Baku 2006–07 season was Olimpik Baku's second Azerbaijan Premier League season and their first season with Asgar Abdullayev as manager. They participated in the 2006–07 Azerbaijan Top League as well as the 2006–07 Azerbaijan Cup, finishing the league in 6th and reaching the Last 16 stage of the cup where they were eliminated by Turan Tovuz.

The Qarabağ 2006–07 season was Qarabağ's 14th Azerbaijan Premier League season. They finished the season in 8th place, were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the last 16 stage by Neftchi Baku and didn't progress beyond the First qualifying round of the UEFA Cup after losing to Zimbru Chişinău. Qarabağ started the season under the management of Boyukagha Aghayev, but he was replaced by Rasim Kara in December 2006 following the completion of the first half of the season.

The Inter Baku 2006–07 season was Inter Baku's sixth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their first season under manager Valentin Khodukin. They finished 4th in the league and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the Semi-Final stage by Khazar Lankaran.

The Neftchi Baku 2006–07 season was Neftchi Baku's fifteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season. This was their first, and only, season with Gurban Gurbanov as their manager. They finished 2nd in the league behind Khazar Lankaran and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the semifinal stage by MKT Araz.

The FK Baku 2005-06 season was Baku's eighth Azerbaijan Premier League season.
