The 2007 Barcelona KIA was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the first edition of the Barcelona Ladies Open as part of the WTA Tour and was part of the WTA Tier IV tournaments of the 2007 WTA Tour. It was held in Barcelona, Spain, from 11 June through 17 June 2007.

The 2007 US Open women's doubles tennis tournament was held from 27 August to 9 September 2007, at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows, New York City. The event was won by first-time pairings Nathalie Dechy and Dinara Safina.

The 2008 Sony Ericsson Open women's singles was the women's singles event of the 2008 Sony Ericsson Open, a WTA Tier I tennis tournament held in late March and early April. Serena Williams was the defending champion, and won in the final 6–1, 5–7, 6–3 against Jelena Janković. It was the fifth time Williams had won the tournament, tying the record with Steffi Graf.

The 2001 Thalgo Australian Women's Hardcourts singles was a tennis competition within the 2001 Thalgo Australian Women's Hardcourts, a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts at the Hope Island Resort Tennis Centre in Hope Island, Queensland in Australia and was part of Tier III of the 2001 WTA Tour. The tournament ran from 31 December 2000 through 6 January 2001.

Venus Williams was the defending champion but lost to her sister, Serena Williams, 2–6, 2–6 in the semifinals. Serena Williams won the title by beating first seeded Jennifer Capriati, 7–5, 7–6(7–4) in the final.

María José Martínez Sánchez was the defending champion, but lost to Ekaterina Makarova in the quarterfinals.
Caroline Wozniacki won the title, defeating Kaia Kanepi in the final, 6–1, 6–0. This was the first title in 13 months for the former World No. 1 and her first of 2012.

The singles Tournament at the 2007 İstanbul Cup took place between 21 and 26 May on outdoor clay courts in İstanbul, Turkey. Elena Dementieva won the title, defeating Aravane Rezaï in the final.

The women's doubles Tournament at the 2005 Pacific Life Open took place between March 7 and March 20 on the outdoor hard courts of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California, United States. Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suárez won the title, defeating Nadia Petrova and Meghann Shaughnessy in the final.

Nicole Pratt and Meghann Shaughnessy were the defending champions, but decided not to participate this year.
