The 2007 Gaz de France Budapest Grand Prix was a WTA Tour tennis event held from April 21 to 29, 2007, won by Gisela Dulko.
Gisela Dulko is a retired Argentine tennis player. Although she enjoyed modest success in singles, reaching a career-high ranking of world No. 26 and winning four WTA titles, her speciality was doubles, where she achieved the world No. 1 ranking. Partnering Flavia Pennetta, Dulko won the 2010 WTA Tour Championships and the 2011 Australian Open. She also reached the mixed-doubles final at the 2011 US Open, with Edward Schwank. Dulko is remembered for her ability to upset the big names on the tour, such as Maria Sharapova in the second round of Wimbledon in 2009, and Samantha Stosur in the third round of Roland Garros in 2011. She also beat Martina Navratilova in the second round of Wimbledon in 2004 in Navratilova's final Grand Slam singles match.
Both Dulko and Cîrstea were playing in their first final on the WTA Tour, with Dulko coming through in 3 sets.

Sorana Mihaela Cîrstea is a Romanian tennis player. She achieved her career-high ranking of world No. 21 on 12 August 2013 and has appeared in the quarterfinals of the French Open and the final of the Rogers Cup.
Andreja Klepač is a professional Slovenian tennis player. On 14 July 2008, Klepač reached her best singles rankings of world number 99. On 21 May 2018, she peaked at world number 13 in the doubles rankings.
Gréta Arn is a Hungarian tennis player of Danube Swabian German descent.
Note: Olga Savchuk, seeded first, was given a lucky loser spot in the main draw. Despite losing Sorana Cîrstea, Savchuk made the quarterfinals of the main draw as a lucky loser, beating qualifier Lucie Hradecká, and then the number one seed, Tathiana Garbin, by walkover, before losing to Gisela Dulko.
Olga Mykolayivna Savchuk is a professional tennis player from Ukraine. Savchuk grew up the city of Makiyivka in Donetsk province. She currently resides in Nassau, Bahamas.
A lucky loser is a sports player who loses a match in the qualifying round of a knockout tournament, but who then enters the main draw when another player withdraws after the tournament has started because of illness, injury, or other reasons. The lucky loser then enters the main draw, normally in place of the withdrawn player. This can only happen before all players in the main draw have started their first match in the tournament.
Lucie Hradecká is a tennis player from the Czech Republic. In her career, Hradecká has won 19 WTA doubles titles, and two Grand Slam titles, the 2011 French Open and the 2013 US Open, partnered both times by fellow Czech Andrea Hlaváčková. The pair are also the 2012 Olympic silver medallists in doubles. Hradecká has also won a mixed doubles title at the 2013 French Open with František Čermák, and an Olympic bronze medal alongside Radek Štěpánek at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Her biggest singles career highlight to date was defeating former world No. 1 Ana Ivanovic in the first round of the 2015 Australian Open.

It took place in Budapest, Hungary, from 4 July until 12 July 2010. Ágnes Szávay won the singles title.

At the 2012 BNP Paribas Open – Women's Singles, played at Indian Wells, California in March 2012, the defending champion Caroline Wozniacki lost to Ana Ivanovic in the fourth round, the second consecutive year Ivanovic had knocked out the defending champion. World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka won her first Indian Wells Title by beating World No. 2 Maria Sharapova 6–2 6–3 in the final.

The Singles Tournament at the 2007 Pattaya Women's Open took place between 5 February and 12 February on hard courts in Pattaya City, Thailand. Sybille Bammer won the title, defeating Gisela Dulko in the final.
