The MpD won in the municipalities of Boa Vista, Maio, Porto Novo, Praia, Ribeira Grande, Ribeira Grande de Santiago, Santa Catarina, São Domingos, São Miguel, São Vicente and Tarrafal while PAICV won in the municipalities of Brava, Mosteiros, Paul, Ribeira Brava, Santa Catarina do Fogo, Santa Cruz, São Filipe, São Lourenço dos Órgãos, São Salvador do Mundo and Tarrafal de São Nicolau.

Politics of Cape Verde takes place in a framework of a semi-presidential representative democratic republic, whereby the Prime Minister of Cape Verde is the head of government and the President of the Republic of Cape Verde is the head of state, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the president and the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the National Assembly. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. The constitution, first approved in 1980 and substantially revised in 1992, forms the basis of government organization. It declares that the government is the "organ that defines, leads, and executes the general internal and external policy of the country" and is responsible to the National Assembly.

The city hall is located in the Platô part of the city.
Ribeira Brava is a city on the island of São Nicolau, Cape Verde. It is the seat of the Ribeira Brava Municipality. Its population was 1,936 at the 2010 census. The town is situated in the valley of the river Ribeira Brava, east of the main mountain range of the island. The name of the river is Portuguese for "rough stream", referring to the violent behaviour of the river during rains. The city has a colonial look with Portuguese style buildings, parks and gardens, small winding streets, and steep hills.

The São Nicolau Island Cup is a cup competition played during the season in the island of São Nicolau, Cape Verde, it consists of all the clubs from all the two regional divisions and are divided into about four rounds. The competition is organized by the São Nicolau Regional Football Association. The cup winner competes in the regional super cup final in the following season, when a cup winner also wins the championship, a runner-up competes, it was done for the first and only time in 2017, before, it was the only regional cup where no cup runner up qualified. For several seasons, the winner qualified into Cape Verdean Cup which has been cancelled due to financial and scheduling reasons.

The São Nicolau Super Cup is a regional super cup competition played during the season in São Nicolau Island, Cape Verde. The super cup competition is organized by the São Nicolau Regional Football Association. Its current champions is Ultramarina Tarrafal which now possess the most titles numbering six.
Estádio Orlando Rodrigues is a multi-use stadium in Tarrafal de São Nicolau on the island of São Nicolau, Cape Verde and are one of two on the island. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Ultramarina and AJAT'SN, clubs from other parts of the municipality plays at the stadium, the only one being FC Praia Branca from the north of the municipality. The stadium holds 5,000 people, and its ground is artificial grass with its size being 106 x 68 metres. The stadium is operated by the São Nicolau Regional Football Association (ARFSN).
