The 2008 Mid-American Conference Baseball Tournament took place in May 2008. The top eight regular season finishers met in the double-elimination tournament held at V.A. Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. This was the twentieth Mid-American Conference postseason tournament to determine a champion, and first to be held at a neutral site. Second seed Eastern Michigan won their third tournament championship to earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. [2] [3]
The winner of each division claimed the top two seeds, while the next six finishers based on conference winning percentage only, regardless of division, participated in the tournament. The teams played a two bracket, double-elimination tournament with the winner of each bracket facing off in a single championship game. This was the first year of the eight team tournament.

The College World Series (CWS), officially the NCAA Men's College World Series (MCWS), is an annual baseball tournament held in June in Omaha, Nebraska. The CWS is the culmination of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Baseball Championship tournament—featuring 64 teams in the first round—which determines the NCAA Division I college baseball champion. The eight participating teams are split into two, four-team, double-elimination brackets, with the winners of each bracket playing in a best-of-three championship series.

South Division top seed Savannah State won their first tournament championship to claim the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The Tigers defeated Bethune-Cookman, who had claimed thirteen of the fourteen tournament championships, with North Carolina A&T winning the other.
The 2013 Big South Conference Baseball Tournament was held from May 21–25. The top eight regular season finishers of the conference's twelve teams met in the double-elimination tournament, which was held at Liberty Baseball Stadium on the campus of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. In the championship game, fifth-seeded Liberty defeated first-seeded Campbell, 2-1, to win its fourth tournament championship. As a result, Liberty earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.

The seventh-seeded Western Michigan Broncos won the tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. It marked the first championship game appearance and tournament title for the Broncos.
