The 2008 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament was held at Bright House Field in Clearwater, FL. This was the twenty fourth annual Big East Conference Baseball Tournament, and second to be held at Bright House Field. The Louisville Cardinals won their first tournament championship and claimed the Big East Conference's automatic bid to the 2008 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. Louisville joined the league prior to the 2006 season. [3]

Format and seeding

The Big East baseball tournament was an 8 team double elimination tournament in 2008. The top eight regular season finishers were seeded one through eight based on conference winning percentage only. The field was divided into two brackets, with the winners of each bracket meeting in a single championship game. [3]

Chris Dominguez was the winner of the 2008 Jack Kaiser Award. Dominguez was a sophomore third baseman for Louisville. [3]

2015 Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team

The 2015 Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team represented Vanderbilt University during the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Commodores played their home games at Hawkins Field as a member of the Southeastern Conference. They were led by head coach Tim Corbin, in his 13th season at Vanderbilt.

2016 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament

The 2016 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament began on Friday, June 3, 2016, as part of the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball season. The 64-team, double-elimination tournament concluded with the 2016 College World Series (CWS) in Omaha, Nebraska, starting on June 18, 2016, and ending on June 30, 2016. The 64 participating NCAA Division I college baseball teams were selected out of 298 eligible teams. Thirty-one teams were awarded an automatic bid, as champions of their conferences; the remaining 33 teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee.
