Following the title win two seasons ago, KF Tirana added to their 23 titles to make it their record 24 title wins. KF Tirana played UEFA Europa League against Zalaegerszegi TE and FC Utrecht.

In the 2016–17 season, Partizani Tirana competed in the Kategoria Superiore for the fourth consecutive season. The club also participated in the UEFA Champions League after Skënderbeu Korçë's exclusion from the European competitions during the season due to the match-fixing. That was the first participation in the Champions League after 23 seasons as well. In the league, Partizani finished in second place again after losing a title race with Kukësi.

Skënderbeu Korçë are an Albanian football team which are based in Korçë. During the 2017/18 campaign they will compete in the following competitions: Kategoria Superiore, Albanian Cup, UEFA Europa League.

In the 2018–19 season, Partizani Tirana were competed in the Kategoria Superiore for the sixth consecutive season. The club won the title for the first time since 1992–93 season and for the 16th time total.

In the 2017–18 season, Partizani Tirana competed in the Kategoria Superiore for the fifth consecutive season. The season was the worst since 2014, because Partizani finished in fifth place, after a disastrous beginning and a bad form during the big part of the season. The club qualified for Europe next season, because of another ban of Skënderbeu from European competitions, this time for 10 years.
