The 2009–10 California Golden Bears men's basketball team represented the University of California, Berkeley in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This was head coach Mike Montgomery's second season at California. The Golden Bears played their home games at Haas Pavilion and participate in the Pacific-10 Conference. The Golden Bears finished the season 2411, 135 in Pac-10 play to win the regular season conference championship, their first regular season title since the 195960 season. They lost to Washington in the finals of the Pac-10 tournament. They received an atlarge bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, earning an 8 seed in the South Region. They defeated 9 seed Louisville in the first round before falling to 1 seed and AP #3 Duke in the second round. The Blue Devils went on to claim their fourth national title.

The Oregon Ducks men's basketball team is an intercollegiate basketball program that competes in the NCAA Division I and is a member of the Big Ten Conference, representing the University of Oregon. The Ducks play their home games at Matthew Knight Arena, which has a capacity of 12,364. Then coached by Howard Hobson, Oregon won the first NCAA men's basketball national championship in 1939. They again reached the Final Four in 2017 under head coach Dana Altman, marking the longest span between appearances in NCAA history. The Ducks have made the NCAA tournament 18 times, and have won eight conference championships.

The team finished 8th in the conference and lost in the second round of the Pac-10 tournament to the Oregon Ducks. The Bruins did not play in a post-season tournament. This was the final season for head coach Steve Lavin. This season was also notable as it was UCLA's first losing season since the 1947–48 season. The Bruins 54 years of consecutive winning seasons had set an NCAA record. Coach Steve Lavin was fired at the season’s end.

The 2009 Pacific Life Pacific-10 Conference men's basketball tournament began with the first round on March 11, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, with quarterfinals on March 12, semifinals on March 13, and the finals on March 14. In front of a crowd of 16,988, #6 seed USC defeated #4 seed Arizona State for the Pac-10 Tournament Championship, which was the first and only time for their program. This was also the first time a team seeded sixth in the tournament went on to win the championship, although it would happen again three years later. The Trojans received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA National Tournament.

Benjamin Abraham Braun is an American former men's college basketball coach and college basketball analyst. He served as the head men's basketball coach at Siena Heights University (1977–1985), Eastern Michigan University (1986–1996), the University of California, Berkeley (1996–2008), and Rice University (2008–2014), compiling a career coaching record of 615–517. He won the most games (185) of any head coach in the history of the Eastern Michigan Eagles men's basketball program and was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year three times. As the head coach of the California Golden Bears, he won the Pac-10 Coach of the Year and had a 219–154 record (.587). Braun currently is a studio and game basketball analyst for the Pac-12 Network.

They finished the season 21–13, 10–8 in Pac-12 play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They defeated Oregon State and Utah in Pac-12 tournament to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Oregon. They were one of the last four teams not selected for the NCAA tournament and thus received a No. 1 seed in the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Cal State Bakersfield.

The 2018–19 Oregon Ducks men's basketball team represented the University of Oregon during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Ducks, led by ninth-year head coach Dana Altman, played their home games at Matthew Knight Arena as members of the Pac–12 Conference. They finished the season with a 25–13 record, 10–8 in conference play, and finished tied for 4th in the Pac-12. Oregon won the Pac-12 tournament, upsetting the No. 1 seed Washington and receiving the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Oregon entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 12 seed and upset the No. 5 seed Wisconsin in the first round, beat UC Irvine in the Second Round before losing in the Sweet Sixteen to Virginia.

The 2021–22 Arizona Wildcats women's basketball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wildcats were led by sixth-year head coach Adia Barnes. This was the Wildcats' 48th season at the on-campus McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona and 43rd season as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished with a record of 21–8, 10–6 in Pac-12 play. The Wildcats were invited to the 2022 NCAA tournament where they defeated UNLV in the First Round before losing to North Carolina in the Second Round.
