The Buffalo Bandits are a lacrosse team based in Buffalo, New York playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2007 season was the franchise's 16th season, and was almost a repeat of their 2006 season. After winning the East with an 11-5 record in 2006, the Bandits finished 2nd with a 10-6 record in 2007. Once again they dispatched Minnesota in the division semi-finals, and once again met Rochester in the division finals. This time however, Rochester would take the division on their way to the Championship, beating the Bandits 14-13 in overtime.

The Boston Blazers are a lacrosse team based in Boston playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2011 season was their third and final season in the NLL. After acquiring both Casey Powell and Josh Sanderson in the off-season, the Blazers looked to dominate the NLL East. But the Blazers did not gel as much as they might have hoped, and finished 4th in the East with an 8-8 record.

The Bandits finished tied with the Toronto Rock and Rochester Knighthawks with the best record in the East, but were awarded first place due to tiebreakers. After defeating the Boston Blazers in the Division Semifinals, the Bandits lost to the eventual champion Toronto Rock in the Division Finals. The Bandits were led by Mark Steenhuis, who scored 36 goals and had 54 assists on the year.

The Edmonton Rush are a lacrosse team based in Edmonton playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2012 season was the 7th in franchise history. The Rush had a tough regular season, starting 2-7 before gaining momentum in the second half. They finished 6-10 but made the playoffs. In the playoffs, however, everything changed as the Rush beat both the Calgary Roughnecks and Minnesota Swarm in dominating performances, before losing to the Rochester Knighthawks 9-6 in the championship game.
