2010 Copa FGF, also known as Copa Enio Costamilan, is the 7th edition of Copa FGF. 18 team participated in the tournament.
The winner would be qualified for 2010 Recopa Sul-Brasileira and 2011 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D. However, the winner may already qualified for the higher division or withdraw to play. Moreover, If 2011 Campeonato Gaúcho winner and runner-up were Grêmio and Internacional (GRE–NAL), the runner-up of the cup would be allocated 1 of the 3 spot of the state to 2012 Copa do Brasil, otherwise the champion, runner-up and the third place of the league would be qualified to the cup.
The clubs were divided into three groups according to their location (Metropolitan, Border and Mountain), and would be play 10 matches in double round-robin in each group. 16 teams would qualify for the next stage, which the group winner would be paired with fifth place; runner-up paired with fourth place. The best third place would against the best sixth place and the two other against each other.
Teams of lower rank plays their home match first and the opponent of the next stage would be paired based upon bracket.
Teams filled their inferior squad to the tournament: Internacional used its B team, [1] Porto Alegre fielded its youth products along with other contracted players and Grêmio used its B team (under-20 team).

The Campeonato Gaúcho, officially named as Campeonato Gaúcho de Futebol Série A and commonly known as the Gauchão or the Gauchão Ipiranga for sponsorship reasons, is the state football league of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It has been contested since its founding in 1919, being an amateur competition until 1940 when the league became professional. Twelve teams contest in the Campeonato Gaúcho, typically from January to April, for the state championship title.
Gravataí is a Brazilian municipality near Porto Alegre at the Rio Grande do Sul State. Its population is approximately 280,000 people, making it the sixth most populous city in the state.
The 2010 Campeonato de Primeira Divisão de Futebol Profissional da FGF, better known as the 2010 Campeonato Gaúcho or Gaúcho, was the 90th edition of the top flight football league of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The season began on 16 January and ended on 2 May, when Grêmio, despite losing the final match to their city rivals Internacional 0-1, clinched their 36th title in history thanks to their 2-0 win in the first match. The win broke a 2-year streak by Internacional. Other clubs like São José, Novo Hamburgo and Pelotas also caught the attention due to their overall record in the competition. All three clubs qualified to the 2010 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D.
The 2010 season is the 101st season in Sport Club Internacional's existence, and their 40th in the Campeonato Brasileiro, having never been relegated from the top division. On 18 August 2010, Internacional won their second Copa Libertadores title after they defeated Guadalajara 3–2 in the second leg of the final to clinch a 5–3 aggregate win.
The 2010 Recopa Sul-Brasileira was the 4th edition of South Brazil Super Cup. All matches of the competition were played at Estádio Antônio Vieira Ramos, which is the home stadium of Cerâmica, in Gravataí, Rio Grande do Sul. The competition started on December 3 and concluded on December 5. Four clubs participated of the competition: Cerâmica, of Rio Grande do Sul, Cerâmica were invited as Internacional B withdrew, Roma Apucarana of Paraná, Paulista of São Paulo, and Brusque of Santa Catarina. Paulista sent its youth squad instead of the main team.

The 2012 Campeonato da Primeira Divisão de Futebol Profissional da FGF, better known as the 2012 Campeonato Gaúcho or Gaúcho, was the 92nd edition of the top flight football league of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The season began on 18 January and ended on 13 May. Internacional successfully defended its 2011 title in the final by defeating Caxias.
The 2014 Copa do Brasil Third Round was played from 23 July to 14 August 2014 and decided the 10 teams advancing to the knockout rounds. Different than the first two rounds, in this round the away team that wins the first match by 2 or more goals do not progress straight to the next round avoiding the second leg. The order of the matches was determined by a random draw.
The 2015 Copa do Brasil First Round was played from 25 February to 30 April 2015, deciding the 40 teams that advanced to the Second Round.
