<span class="mw-page-title-main">América Futebol Clube (MG)</span> Traditional Brazilian football team from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais

América Futebol Clube is a Brazilian football team from the city of Belo Horizonte, capital city of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Founded in 1912, the club preserves its name and crest since its inception. The original home kit colours are white and green only; the black color was incorporated in the 1970s. The team also played with a red home kit between 1933 and 1942, as a protest to the introduction of professionalism. It hosts its matches at Independência stadium, being the only professional club in Belo Horizonte to have its own stadium. The club has the third largest fan base among the teams from Minas Gerais.

Diego Tardelli Martins, known as Diego Tardelli, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a forward. He was considered a dynamic player due to his speed on attack and individual skills. Tardelli is not his last name, but his second name: it was chosen by his father after his footballing idol, Italian World Cup winner Marco Tardelli.

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, commonly referred to as the Brasileirão, and also known as Brasileirão Assaí due to sponsorship with Assaí Atacadista, is a Brazilian professional league for men's football clubs. At the top of the Brazilian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. In 2021, the competition was chosen by the IFFHS as the strongest national league in South America as well as the strongest in the world.

The Choque-Rei is the name given to Palmeiras and São Paulo football rivalry matches. It is contested between two very big, classic football clubs. The derby dates back to 1930. The tension between both clubs and fanbases is extremely fierce, and it is considered the one of the biggest derbies in the city of São Paulo.

The 2014 season is Santos Futebol Clube's 102nd season in existence and the club's fifty-fifth consecutive season in the top flight of Brazilian football. As well as the Campeonato Brasileiro, the club competes in the Copa do Brasil and the Campeonato Paulista. This season is the first in history that Santos uses fixed numbers assigned to each player.

The season began on 15 May 2016 and ended on 11 December 2016. Fixtures for the 2016 season were announced on 25 April 2016. Palmeiras won the title, their ninth overall.

The 2018 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A was the 62nd season of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top level of professional football in Brazil, and the 15th edition in a double round-robin since its establishment in 2003. The season began on 14 April 2018 and ended on 2 December 2018. The top six teams as well as the 2018 Copa do Brasil champions qualified to the Copa Libertadores. The next six best-placed teams not qualified for Copa Libertadores qualified for the Copa Sudamericana and the last four were relegated to Série B in 2019.

Football is the most popular sport, both in terms of participants and spectators, in Rio de Janeiro. Rio de Janeiro has several of Brazil's significant football clubs, and the city is home to many football clubs.

The 2019 season was Clube de Regatas do Flamengo's 124th year of existence, their 108th football season, and their 49th in the Brazilian Série A, having never been relegated from the top division. In addition to the 2019 Brasileirão, Flamengo also competed in the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, the Copa do Brasil, and the Campeonato Carioca, the top tier of Rio de Janeiro's state football league.

The 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A was the 67th season of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, the top level of professional football in Brazil, and the 20th edition in a double round-robin since its establishment in 2003. The competition began on 15 April and ended on 6 December 2023.

The 2023 season is Clube de Regatas do Flamengo's 128th year of existence, their 112th football season, and their 53rd in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, having never been relegated from the top division. In addition to the 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Flamengo will also compete in the Supercopa do Brasil, Recopa Sudamericana, CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, the Copa do Brasil, and the Campeonato Carioca, the top tier of Rio de Janeiro's state football. Due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup being played in the December 2022 the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup moved its schedule to February 2023 into the Brazilian season, as the current Copa Libertadores champions Flamengo will play the competition for the second time.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">History of Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas</span> Brazilian Sports Club

The history of Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas begins in 1891 when the Botafogo Regatta Group was founded in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Three years later, the group became Club de Regatas Botafogo and, in 1904, the Botafogo Football Club was created. After 38 years of the two associations existing in parallel, the merger between the two clubs created Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, currently one of the most popular sports entities in Brazil.
