Orangeville is a village in Stephenson County, Illinois. The town's sign lists the population at 800 as of January 2021. The population in 2020 was 738. The population according to the 2010 census was 793, up from 751 in 2000. Using the 2020 population of 738 Orangeville is the 741st largest city in Illinois and the 11,650th largest city in the United States. Orangeville is currently declining at a rate of -0.94% annually and its population has decreased by -6.94% since the 2010 census. The area's earliest white settlers arrived in the year 1833, and the village was platted in 1851 by John Bower, who is considered the village founder. In 1867 Orangeville was incorporated as a village. The town's central business district contains several 19th century commercial buildings, many of which were built during the railroad boom of 1888–1914. By the time the Great Depression was ongoing, business in Orangeville had started to decline, with the last bank closing in 1932. In 1956 another bank started operating in the village and is still in town today. Some recent infrastructure jumps have restored some of the village's old decor.

King's Highway 9, commonly referred to as Highway 9, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. Highway 9 has been divided into two segments since January 1, 1998, when the segment between Harriston and Orangeville was downloaded to the various counties in which it resided. The western segment of the highway begins at Highway 21 in Kincardine, near the shores of Lake Huron. It travels 73 km (45 mi) to the junction of Highway 23 and Highway 89 in Harriston. The central segment is now known as Wellington County Road 109 and Dufferin County Road 109. At Highway 10 in Orangeville, Highway 9 resumes and travels east to Highway 400. The highway once continued east to Yonge Street in Newmarket, but is now known as York Regional Road 31.

Founders Cup

The Founders' Cup is the championship trophy of Canada's Junior "B" lacrosse leagues. The custodial duties of this trophy fall upon the Canadian Lacrosse Association. The national champions are determined through a round robin format with a playdown for the final.

King's Highway 136, commonly referred to as Highway 136, was a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario that connected former Highway 24 near Caledon with Highway 9 in Orangeville. The majority of the route was located in the Regional Municipality of Peel; however, the section in Orangeville was in Dufferin County. The route of Highway 136 was originally part of Highway 24; it was created in 1962 when Highway 24 was rerouted along Highway 51. The highway remained unchanged until 1997, when it was transferred to the Regional Municipality of Peel and the Town of Orangeville.

The Orangeville Transit System provides local bus service to the Town of Orangeville in central Ontario, Canada. Approval was given by the town council, on April 28, 2008, that the current contract with First Student Canada to operate and maintain the transit buses, should be extended for another year. The Public Works Department administers the contract and is responsible for other non-operational functions. Town of Orangeville transit buses are all fully accessible.
