2010 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships

The eleventh edition of the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, also known as the 2010 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, a long course (50 m) event, was held in Irvine, California, United States, from August 18–22.

The men's 800 metre freestyle competition at the 2006 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships took place on August 17 at the Saanich Commonwealth Place. The last champion was Grant Hackett of Australia.

Andrew Hurd is a Canadian former freestyle swimmer. He began swimming at age 8 and was a student at the University of Michigan. He won a gold medal on the world cup circuit in 2000 in Edmonton, Alberta in the 1500-metre freestyle event. He was born in Cambridge, Ontario.

This event was a timed-final where each swimmer swam just once. The top 8 seeded swimmers swam in the evening, and the remaining swimmers swam in the morning session. [5] [6]
