The 2010 Philippine Collegiate Championship was the third tournament of the Philippine Collegiate Championship (PCC) for basketball in its current incarnation, and the eighth edition overall. The champion teams from the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) and 3 other Metro Manila leagues took part in the final tournament dubbed as the "Sweet Sixteen". Other teams had to qualify in the zonal tournaments to round out the 16 teams in the tournament. [1]

The defending champions Ateneo Blue Eagles defeated the Adamson Soaring Falcons in the championship to make it back-to-back; the De La Salle Green Archers and the UC Webmasters disputed third place, with La Salle winning.

ABS-CBN Sports was the coverage partner, with games airing on Studio 23.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight-member schools are Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

The UAAP basketball championships are basketball tournaments held from September to December by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, and the men's tournament is the flagship tournament of the UAAP. Basketball is a mandatory sport for all schools. All eight universities participate in the men's, women's, and high school (boys') tournaments.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) volleyball tournament is divided into four divisions, namely men's, women's, boys' and girls'. Volleyball is a mandatory sport in the women's division. The UAAP volleyball tournament was held in the first semester of the school year until the UAAP Board decided to move it to the second semester in Season 69. This decision was made so that the games can be televised to improve its popularity.

College basketball in the Philippines is fragmented; as of today there is no single governing body, with several leagues in Metro Manila and in the provinces. The University Athletic Association of the Philippines and National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) champions are considered to be the major champions, although several other leagues, claim their champions in equal standing with those of the UAAP and the NCAA.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP)-National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All-Star Game is an interleague basketball game between selected players of the UAAP and the NCAA. Several side events, such as the slam dunk contest, were held from 2004 onwards. Prior to 2004, it was an interleague tournament between the semifinalists of both leagues.

The Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) is a national collegiate basketball championship league in the Philippines. The 1st Conference of the 6th Season of the Philippines Shakey's V-League started on April 19, 2009, at the Filoil Flying V Arena. Teams included defending champion and current NCAA champion San Sebastian, UAAP runner-up FEU, NCRAA champion Lyceum. Two Visayan teams, CESAFI champion USJ-R, and USLS, joined at the quarterfinals. UAAP champion La Salle decided not to compete and took a leave of absence; UP replaced the Lady Archers to complete the eight-team elimination round roster.

The De La Salle University Lady Spikers are the women's collegiate varsity volleyball team of De La Salle University. They compete in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The DLSU Lady Spikers are hailed as the most dominant women's volleyball team in the UAAP for the last two decades having won 12 championships, eight silver and two bronze finishes.

UAAP Season 85 was the 2022–23 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Season 85 theme is "Rise as One", and the season host was the Adamson University. With just seven events in Season 84, the collegiate league will be bringing back the full athletic calendar of events for Season 85.

Lorene Grace Montebon Toring is a Filipino volleyball player. She last played for the Adamson Soaring Lady Falcons in the UAAP.
