The 2011 Armenian First League season began on 5 April 2011, and ended on 10 October 2011. [1] At the end of 28 rounds, Shengavit were crowned champions; however, they were not eligible for promotion since they were the reserve team of Ulisses, which already participated in the Armenian Premier League.

The Armenian First League is currently the second level football competition in Armenia after the Armenian Premier League. The competition exists mostly out of reserve teams of several Premier League clubs; however, other teams also participate. The reserve teams are not eligible for promotion to the highest level, resulting in situations where a club promotes even when they finish the season in a mid-table position.

Ulisses FC association football club

Ulisses Football Club, commonly known as Ulisses, is a defunct Armenian football club from Yerevan. The club played at the Armenian Premier League, the top division in Armenian football. They regularly used the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan and sometimes the City Stadium in Abovyan as their home ground.

Armenian Premier League sports league

The Armenian Premier League is the top football competition in Armenia. From 1936 to 1991, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the USSR. After independence, the Football Federation of Armenia has been the unit in charge. Over the years, the league has evolved into a small league consisting of nine teams. The winner of the league is awarded a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

The 2010 Armenian Premier League season was the nineteenth since its establishment. The season began in March 2010 and ended in November 2010. FC Pyunik were the defending champions, having won their twelfth championship last season.

The 2018–19 Armenian First League season is the 27th since its establishment. The season was launched on August 6, 2018, and concluded on June 13, 2019. Although Junior Sevan were reigned as champions, however, they did not gain promotion to the 2019–20 Armenian Premier League, due to not meeting the requirements of the Football Federation of Armenia to take part at the Armenian Premier League competition. Instead, runners-up Yerevan gained promotion, as they met the above-mentioned requirements.

The 2019–20 Armenian First League season is the 28th since its establishment. The season was launched on August 6, 2019, and will conclude on May 27, 2020. Sevan are the defending champions.
