The 2011 Shanghai International Film Festival was the 14th such festival devoted to international cinema held in Shanghai, China. It took place from June 11 to June 19, 2011. [1] The opening and closing ceremonies were held at the Shanghai Grand Theater. [2]

Shanghai International Film Festival Annual film festival held in China

The Shanghai International Film Festival, abbreviated SIFF, is one of the largest film festivals in East Asia.

The 2nd Shanghai International Film Festival was held between October 28 and November 12, 1995. The festival marked the 90 year anniversary of the first ever Chinese film, 1905's Dingjun Mountain. 232 films from 46 countries participated in the Festival, 19 of which were officially selections for competition. Swiss director Wolfgang Panzer's Broken Silence won the Golden Goblet for best film.

The 4th Shanghai International Film Festival was held between October 22 and October 31, 1999. Like the previous year, the Film Festival was divided into four activities:

2007 Shanghai International Film Festival

The 2007 Shanghai International Film Festival was the 10th such festival devoted to international cinema to be held in the city of Shanghai in the People's Republic of China. It was held from June 16 to June 24, 2007. It was one of twelve film festivals to be accredited in 2007 by the International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF).

The 2008 Shanghai International Film Festival is the 11th such festival devoted to international cinema to be held in Shanghai, China. It was held from June 14–22, 2008. Hong Kong film director Wong Kar-wai was the head of jury at this year's film festival along with other jury members such as Chinese-American actress Joan Chen, legendary Danish director Bille August and Israeli stage actress Gila Almagor.

The 2006 Shanghai International Film Festival was the ninth such festival to be held, and took place over the course of two weeks between June 17 and June 25, 2006.

The 2009 Shanghai International Film Festival is the 12th such festival devoted to international cinema to be held in Shanghai, China. It was held from June 13-21, 2009.

The 2010 Shanghai International Film Festival is the 13th such festival devoted to international cinema to be held in Shanghai, China. It was held from June 12–20, 2010.

The Golden Goblet Award for Best Actress is a prize given to actresses in the main category of competition at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

Reza Mirkarimi Iranian film writer and director (born 1967)

Reza Mirkarimi is an Iranian film writer and director. He graduated from Fine Arts University in graphic arts in Tehran. His cinema activities started from 1987 with a short film named For Him and with a series of shorts followed by two TV series aimed at young people. His 1999 first feature, The Child and The Soldier, has won several national and international awards, including the ”Golden Butterfly” at the 1999 Isfahan International Children and Youth Film Festival, Iran and the "Montgolfiere d'Argent” at the Festival of 3 Continents, Nantes, France, in 2000, as well as the "Golden Shoe" at the "Children and Teenagers Film Festival" in Zelin, Croatia, in 2001. The Child and The Soldier, was released in France in 2001. In 2000, his second feature, Under the Moonlight, dealing with social and religious issues won the Best Feature Award at the 40th Critics' Week at the 2001 Cannes International Film Festival. The film also won the Best Director's Award as well as the Special Jury Prize at the Tokyo IFF in 2001, and the Golden Peacock Award at the International Film Festival of India. His fourth and fifth feature films, As Simple as That (2007) and Daughter (2016), won the Golden George Award for the Best Picture at the 30th and the 38th Moscow International Film Festival respectively. He also contributes to young Iranian directors by producing their films. He has produced Don't be Tired in 2012 and Voice of Silence in 2013. His latest film, Castle of Dreams (2019), won big at Shanghai International Film Festival, receiving three awards for the best picture, the best director, and the best actor. Mirkarimi has so far won seven Golden Simorgh awards at the Fajr International Film Festival. Three of his films have been presented by Iran for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar: So Close, So Far, A Cube of Sugar, and Today. He has also sat on several international film festival juries, including Black Nights Film Festival (Estonia), Tokyo International Film Festival (Japan), Carthage Film Festival (Tunisia), Bogota International Film Festival (Colombia), Golden Apricot – Yerevan International Film Festival (Armenia), and as jury president at the 39th Moscow International Film Festival. He has also served as managing director of Khane-ye Cinema. Reza Mirkarimi has been director of Fajr International Film Festival for the last four years.

Miskolc International Film Festival Annual film festival in Hungary

The CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in the town of Miskolc, in Hungary. It was founded under the name of Festival of Young Filmmakers in 2004 with a focus on filmmakers under the age of 35. The festival now presents feature films, shorts, documentaries, and animated films. All programs, screenings, conferences, and exhibitions are free to attend.

2014 Shanghai International Film Festival

The 2014 Shanghai International Film Festival was the 17th such festival devoted to international cinema held in Shanghai, China.

China Movie Channel Media Awards (电影频道传媒大奖) are presented at each Shanghai International Film Festival by China Movie Channel. Voted by the reporters in the entertainment industry, the awards are aimed at "promoting medium-and-small-budget homegrown movies and exposing talented young directors and actors".

Pema Tseden

Pema Tseden, also called Wanma Tsaidan, is a Tibetan film director and screenwriter of Chinese citizenship. He is a member of the China Film Directors' Guild, China Film Association and Chinese Film Literature Association.

2017 Shanghai International Film Festival

The 2017 Shanghai International Film Festival was the 20th such festival devoted to international cinema held in Shanghai, China.

Pedicab is a 2016 Philippine social realist drama film directed by Paolo Villaluna and produced by Ellen Ramos. The tandem of Villaluna-Ramos also co-wrote and co-edited the film. It was selected in the main competition of the 20th Shanghai International Film Festival where it won the Golden Goblet for Best in Feature Film. Its win makes Pedicab only the 4th full-feature film in the history of Philippine cinema to ever win the top prize in an A-list international film festival. It has an ensemble cast led by Philippine icons Bembol Roco and Cherry Pie Picache.

The 2018 Shanghai International Film Festival, held on June 17–24, 2018, was the 21st such festival devoted to international cinema held in Shanghai, China.

The 2019 Shanghai International Film Festival was the 22nd such festival devoted to international cinema held in Shanghai, China.

White Fang is a 2018 French computer-animated film directed by Alexandre Espigares. The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival.
