He received widespread recognition in China for his directorial debut in the 2015 film Pancake Man, which achieved 1.16 billion yuan in China. The movie also gave him a certain degree of visibility in the United States. In 2023, the film Johnny Keep Walking!, starring him, grossed more than 1.29 billion yuan in China.
