A leadership election was held in the TOP 09 party in the Czech Republic on 23 October 2011. Incumbent Karel Schwarzenberg was unopposed. He received 162 of the 169 votes. [1] Schwarzenberg also accepted party's nomination for the 2013 presidential elections. [2] [3]

Legislative elections were held in the Czech Republic on 28–29 May 2010 to elect the 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies. The elections had been expected to take place sometime before the end of 2009, but was postponed due to legal challenges. Presidential elections were held in the Czech Republic in January 2013, the country's first direct election for the presidency. No candidate received a majority of the votes in the first round on 11–12 January, so a second round runoff election was held on 25–26 January. Nine individuals secured enough signatures or support of parliamentarians to become official candidates for the office. Miloš Zeman of the Party of Civic Rights (SPOZ) and Karel Schwarzenberg of TOP 09 qualified for the second round, which was won by Zeman with 54.8% of the vote, compared to Schwarzenberg's 45.2%. Zeman assumed office in March 2013 after being sworn in.

The coalition government following the 2013 legislative election consisted of the two largest parties: the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, and ANO 2011 (ANO), led by former Finance Minister and businessman Andrej Babiš, alongside the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party (KDU–ČSL). Democratic Bloc was a parliamentary alliance formed in 2017 by four Centre-right parties. Parties agreed to cooperate in parliament. Czech Pirate Party and Czech Social Democratic Party were also offered participation but both parties declined. It was announced on 15 November 2017 on a Press Conference by Petr Fiala. Fiala stated that Democratic Bloc isn't meant to be a long term coalition but its only task is to take over initiative during negotiations of parliament's body and for constituent meeting. Democratic Bloc was dissolved on 21 December 2017.

Presidential elections will be held in the Czech Republic in January 2023. The incumbent president Miloš Zeman is not eligible to run for another term due to the two-term limit. As was the case in the last two presidential elections, the vote will be direct.

The Czech political party TOP 09 held a leadership election on 24 November 2019. The incumbent leader Jiří Pospíšil decided not to seek a new term. Markéta Pekarová Adamová was elected the new leader when she defeated Tomáš Czernin.

Marek Ženíšek is a Czech politician and political scientist. From 2009 to 2019, he was the vice-chairman of TOP 09. From 2013 to 2017, he was a Member of the Chamber of Deputies, and has also served as Deputy Minister of Justice, and First Deputy Minister of Health. Since 2020, Ženíšek is a regional assembly member in the Plzen Region and a Deputy Governor.
