The 2011 Wan Chai District Council election was held on 6 November 2011 to elect all 11 elected members to the 13-member District Council. [1]

Contents

The pro-Beijing camp remained control of the council with the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong retained the largest party status with three seats. In Broadwood, incumbent Michael Mak Kwok-fung of the pro-democracy League of Social Democrats lost to independent Pamela Peck Wan-kam.

Hong Kong Island (constituency) Geographical constituency in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Island geographical constituency is one of the five geographical constituencies in the elections for the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It currently elects six members of the Legislative Council using the Hare quota of party-list proportional representation. The constituency covers all the four districts on the Hong Kong Island, namely, Central and Western, Eastern, Southern and Wan Chai. In 2020, it has 707,277 registereted voters.

New Territories West (constituency)

The New Territories West geographical constituency is one of the geographical constituencies in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. Located in the western part of the New Territories, it is the largest geographical constituency in Hong Kong with 1,308,081 electorates in 2020. It consists of Tsuen Wan District, Kwai Tsing District, Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District and Islands District. The constituency currently elects nine members of the Legislative Council using the Hare quota of party-list proportional representation.

Gary Fan

Gary Fan Kwok-wai is a Hong Kong politician. He was the member of Legislative Council from 2012 to 2016 and from 2018 to 2019 after winning the 2018 by-election for New Territories East. He is also a former member of the Sai Kung District Council for Wan Hang. Former leader of the reformist faction in the Democratic Party, he led the reformists splitting from the party to form the Neo Democrats over the controversial 2010 constitutional reform proposal, taking a moderate localist stance.

Kwai Tsing District Council

The Kwai Tsing District Council is the district council for the Kwai Tsing District in Hong Kong. It is one of 18 such councils. It currently consists of 32 members of which 31 are directly elected from the 31 constituencies of the district, one ex-officio member who is the Tsing Yi Rural Committee chairman. The latest election was held on 24 November 2019.

2011 Hong Kong local elections

The 2011 Hong Kong District Council elections were held on 6 November 2011. Elections were held to all 18 District Councils of Hong Kong, returning 412 members from directly elected constituencies, each selecting a council member. After the government's constitutional reform package was passed in 2010, five new seats in the Legislative Council would be created in which the candidates would be nominated by all District Councillors.

The Sha Tin District Council currently consists of 21 members, of which the district is divided into 19 constituencies, electing a total of 19 with 2 ex officio members who is the Tsuen Wan and Ma Wan rural committee chairmen. The latest election was held on 24 November 2019.

2011 Hong Kong Election Committee Subsector elections

The 2011 Election Committee subsector elections took place between 7:30 am and 10:30 pm on 11 December 2011. The Election Committee sub-sector elections are a part of the contemporary political process of Hong Kong. The election's purpose is to decide the 1,044 members of the Election Committee of Hong Kong. The resulting Election Committee is then responsible for electing the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) in the 2012 Election.

Horace Cheung

Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan, JP is a Hong Kong solicitor and politician and the current vice-chairman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB), the largest pro-Beijing party in Hong Kong. He was elected to Legislative Council of Hong Kong in 2016 through the Hong Kong Island constituency. He is also a non-official member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong.
