The 2011 Wyoming Cavalry season was the team's twelfth season as a football franchise and first in the current Indoor Football League (IFL). [1] One of twenty-two teams competing in the IFL for the 2011 season, the Wyoming Cavalry were members of the Intense Conference. Led by head coach Dan Maciejczak, the team played their home games at the Casper Events Center in Casper, Wyoming. [2]

The Cavalry became a charter member of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) in 2001 following the original IFL's purchase by the Arena Football League's Orlando Predators. The move in 2001 also brought a franchise name change to the current Wyoming Cavalry. The team then joined the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) in 2008 after the NIFL's demise. With the AIFA's presence in the Western United States dwindling, the Cavalry joined the IFL in 2011. In September, 2014, majority owner Mitch Zimmerman announced that the team would cease operations.

The 2019–20 Wyoming Cowboys basketball team represented the University of Wyoming during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by Allen Edwards in his fourth and final year as head coach at Wyoming. The Cowboys played their home games at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming as members of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 9–24, 2–16 in Mountain West play to finish in last place. As the 11 seed, they upset Colorado State and Nevada to reach the semifinals of the Mountain West tournament where they lost to Utah State. They became the first ever 11 seed to win a game at the Mountain West tournament.

The 2020–21 Wyoming Cowgirls basketball team represented the University of Wyoming in the 2020–21 college basketball season. The Cowgirls were led by head coach Gerald Mattinson, in his second season. The Cowgirls played their home games at the Arena-Auditorium and are members of the Mountain West Conference. The beginning of the season was delayed until at least November 25, as a result of the COVID–19 pandemic.

A. J. Cooper is an American football coach and former tight end. He has been an assistant coach for various college football programs since 2006. He currently is the Linebackers coach for Arizona State.
