The WGC-HSBC Champions was a professional golf tournament, held annually in China. Inaugurated in 2005, the first seven editions were played at the Sheshan Golf Club in Shanghai, then moved to the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen for a single year in 2012. It returned to Sheshan Golf Club in 2013.
The OneAsia Tour was a men's professional golf tour based in the Asia-Pacific region. The tour was founded in 2009 as a joint venture between the PGA Tour of Australasia, the China Golf Association, the Korean Golf Association and the Korean PGA. The Japan Golf Tour was invited to participate in the project in 2012 and had co-sanctioned the Indonesia Open, Indonesia PGA Championship and Thailand Open. The OneAsia Tour was seen as a rival to the longer established Asian Tour, with which it had poor relations. From 2010 to 2017, tournaments on the OneAsia Tour were awarded Official World Golf Ranking points.
The Asian Development Tour, founded in 2010, is a professional golf tour. It is the development tour for the Asian Tour. Players who fail to earn Asian Tour cards through qualifying school may play on the tour. Currently, the top ten players on the Order of Merit at the end of the year earn an Asian Tour card for the following season.

Jay Bayron of the Philippines was also crowned as the ADT Order of Merit winner in the season-ending ADT event followed by Hsu Mong-nan of Chinese Taipei and Peter Richardson of England, who were rewarded with Asian Tour cards for 2013 after finishing inside the top-three of the Merit list.
