The 2012 Blossom Cup was a professional tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the third edition of the tournament which was part of the 2012 ITF Women's Circuit. It took place in Quanzhou, China between 3 and 8 January 2012. It offered the prize of US$50,000.
Liu Wanting and Sun Shengnan were the defending champions and seeded third, but lost in the semifinals to Chan Hao-ching and Rika Fujiwara.
This was a new event in 2012.
The 2014 BMW Malaysian Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 5th edition of the Malaysian Open and was an International tournament on the 2014 WTA Tour. The tournament took place from April 14 to 20 at the Royal Selangor Golf Club. This tournament had been discontinued, but was restarted when the rights were bought off the tournament in Palermo, Italy.

Garbiñe Muguruza defeated Timea Bacsinszky in the final, 7–5, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2015 China Open. It was her first WTA Premier Mandatory level-tournament and second WTA Tour title overall, and she became the first Spanish player to win a Premier Mandatory tournament.
