The 2012 Blossom Cup was a professional tennis tournament played on hard courts. It was the third edition of the tournament which was part of the 2012 ITF Women's Circuit. It took place in Quanzhou, China between 3 and 8 January 2012. It offered the prize of US$50,000.

Liu Wanting and Sun Shengnan were the defending champions and seeded third, but lost in the semifinals to Chan Hao-ching and Rika Fujiwara.

This was a new event in 2012.

The 2014 BMW Malaysian Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 5th edition of the Malaysian Open and was an International tournament on the 2014 WTA Tour. Venus Williams won the singles tennis title at the 2015 Wuhan Open after Garbiñe Muguruza retired in the final, with the scoreline at 6–3, 3–0. Williams saved a match point en route to the title, in the semifinals against Roberta Vinci.

Garbiñe Muguruza defeated Timea Bacsinszky in the final, 7–5, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2015 China Open. It was her first WTA Premier Mandatory level-tournament and second WTA Tour title overall, and she became the first Spanish player to win a Premier Mandatory tournament.

Alison Riske was the defending champion, but lost in the second round to Tímea Babos.

Timea Bacsinszky was the defending champion, but chose not to participate this year.

Karolína Plíšková defeated Angelique Kerber in the final, 6–3, 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2016 Cincinnati Masters. It was her sixth WTA Tour singles title.The two would play each other three weeks later, in the final of the US Open; Kerber would avenge her loss by beating Plíšková in three sets.

Kristýna Plíšková was the defending champion, but chose not to participate.

Petra Kvitová defeated Garbiñe Muguruza in the final, 3–6, 6–3, 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2018 WTA Qatar Open.

Belinda Bencic was the champion the last time the event was held in 2017, but chose to compete in St. Petersburg instead.

Karolína Muchová defeated Magda Linette in the final, 6–1, 6–1 to win the singles title at the 2019 Korea Open. It was her first WTA Tour title.

Margarita Gasparyan was the defending champion. but lost in the second round to Danka Kovinić.

Simona Halep won the women's singles tennis title at the 2020 Italian Open after the defending champion Karolína Plíšková retired from the final, with the scoreline at 6–0, 2–1. It was her first Italian Open title.
