The Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) is the governing body of football in Myanmar. The MFF oversees the Burmese men's national team, the women's national team, and youth national teams as well as national football championships and professional club competitions.

Myanmar National League Football league

The MPT Myanmar National League is the premier national professional football league of Myanmar. In 2009, the league replaced the Myanmar Premier League, which consisted only of 14 Yangon-based football clubs, with eight professional clubs representing different regions across the nation. On 16 May 2009, the league launched its inaugural two-month tournament, the Myanmar National League Cup 2009 in preparation for the first full season in 2010. Despite its national ambitions, the league held the MNL Cup 2009 matches in the country's two main stadiums in Yangon due to the lack of adequate facilities elsewhere. On 5 July 2009, Yadanabon FC defeated Yangon United FC in the MNL Cup final to become the first-ever MNL Champions.

Yangon United F.C. Football club

Yangon United Football Club is a Burmese football club, based at Yangon United Sports Complex, in Yangon, Myanmar. Owned by Tay Za, a prominent Burmese businessman, the club was one of eight teams that participated in the inaugural edition of the Myanmar National League in 2009, where they finished as runners-up. Yangon United's biggest rivals are Yadanarbon F.C., with whom they contest the Myanmar rivalry.

Magwe F.C. Football club

Magwe Football Club is a Myanmar Professional football club, based at Magwe, Myanmar. The club represents the Magway Region of Central Myanmar. At the founded time, the name of club is Magway Football Club. In 2012, the club was renamed the name as Magwe Football Club.

Finance and Revenue Football Club is a Burmese professional football club operated by the Ministry of Finance and Revenue of Myanmar. The club is the most successful club in the history of the now defunct Burmese top-division football league. They won a total of 17 Burma First Division championships prior to 1996, and 11 Myanmar Premier League championships between 1996 and 2008. The club completed its dominance in the last edition of First Division football in 2009 by winning the Myanmar Premier League Cup 2009.

Thiha Sithu is a Burmese professional football player who plays as a goalkeeper for Shan United FC and Myanmar National Football Team. During his career, he played for Ministry of Commerce, Ayeyawaddy United and Yadanarbon. Within his 11 years of professional club career life, he contributed his all clubs to win nine champions along with five 1st runner ups. Sithu also set the Myanmar National League clean sheet record by not conceding a single goal for 14 matches in 2017. and he was also winner of 2014 Myanmar National League Best Player award.

Magnus Wolff Eikrem Norwegian ex professional footballer

Magnus Wolff Eikrem is a Norwegian professional footballer who currently plays for Molde FK in Eliteserien. His regular playing position is in attacking midfield, though he can play anywhere across the midfield.

Sithu Aung is a Burmese professional footballer who plays as midfielder for Myanmar national football team and Yadanarbon. He has played much of his career as a left-back, he has also been used as a winger. Aged 13, Sithu Aung joined the youth team of Yangon United, for whom he made his professional debut in 2012 at the age of 16. He got MNL champion 2 times and played AFC Cup 3 time in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He spent three season at Yangon United club, before moving to Yadanarbon FC for undisclosed fee in the 2014 MNL transfer window and making him the third Yangon United player to join the club in 18 months.

Set Phyo Wai is a footballer from Burma, and a midfielder for the Myanmar U-23 football team and Yangon United FC. In 2014, Set Phyo Wai transferred to Magwe. Currently he plays main role at Shan United.

The 2017 Myanmar National League, also known as the 2017 Max Cement Myanmar National League, is the 8th season of the Myanmar National League, the top Burmese professional league for association football clubs since its founding in 2009. The nation's highest professional football league was shaken up at the end of the 2016 season following a series of surprise announcements by MNL-1 teams Zwegapin United and Zeyar Shwe Myay stating that they were going to drop out of the League in the next season. Also, Manaw Myay announced the team would be disbanded, despite winning promotion to Myanmar’s premier domestic league by finishing the season's MNL-2 from the first place. A committee meeting between the Myanmar Football Federation and Myanmar National League officials held in Yangon on September 10 decided to reverse Southern Myanmar's relegation to MNL-2 in the next season, while Nay Pyi Taw received a surprise promotion into the first-tier league. Facing the loss of three squads and fears of scheduling complications for an 11-team league, MFF officials resolved to allow Southern Myanmar to remain in MNL-1, despite an 11th-place finish with only 14 points in the 2016 season. MNL-2 second-place finishers G.F.A, as well as third-place Nay Pyi Taw, were also promoted to the top league to maintain a 12-team schedule.
