The 2012 Minnesota Swarm season was the eighth season of the Minnesota Swarm, a lacrosse team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota playing in the National Lacrosse League.
After a 3–3 start, the Swarm fired coach Mike Lines, naming Associate General Manager Joe Sullivan as the new head coach. [1] No reason was given for the move.

The Bandits finished tied with the Toronto Rock and Rochester Knighthawks with the best record in the East, but were awarded first place due to tiebreakers. After defeating the Boston Blazers in the Division Semifinals, the Bandits lost to the eventual champion Toronto Rock in the Division Finals. The Bandits were led by Mark Steenhuis, who scored 36 goals and had 54 assists on the year.

The Rush finished 5-11, tied with the Colorado Mammoth, but ended up in 5th place due to tiebreakers and finished out of the playoffs for the fifth time in their six seasons.
The Edmonton Rush are a lacrosse team based in Edmonton playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2012 season was the 7th in franchise history. The Rush had a tough regular season, starting 2-7 before gaining momentum in the second half. They finished 6-10 but made the playoffs. In the playoffs, however, everything changed as the Rush beat both the Calgary Roughnecks and Minnesota Swarm in dominating performances, before losing to the Rochester Knighthawks 9-6 in the championship game.
The 2012 National Lacrosse League season, the 26th in the history of the NLL, began on January 8, 2012 and ended with the Championship game on May 19, 2012. The Rochester Knighthawks won their third NLL Championship, and first-ever in Rochester, defeating the Edmonton Rush 9-6 in the final game.
