The 2012 season was University College Dublin A.F.C.'s third successive season in the League of Ireland Premier Division. The club, more commonly known as UCD, finished in 9th position and thus retained their place in the division for the 2013 season. During the 2012 season, the club also competed in the FAI Cup, League of Ireland Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup.

During 2010, Bohemians competed in the League of Ireland Premier Division, the FAI Cup, the League of Ireland Cup, the Setanta Cup, the Leinster Senior Cup and the UEFA Champions League. Bohemians had won their 11th league title and their 3rd League Cup in the previous season. This was the club's 120th year in existence.

Having finished 2nd in the league last year they club will play in the League of Ireland Premier Division under manager Pat Fenlon. They will also compete in the FAI Cup, the League of Ireland Cup, the Setanta Cup, the Leinster Senior Cup and the Europa League this season.

It's the team's eighth consecutive season in the Premier Division. Long left his role in September and Devlin retook the manager's role.
