Morangos com Açúcar is a Portuguese teen drama. It was broadcast daily on the Portuguese TV station TVI between 30 August 2003 to 15 September 2012. The Portuguese show has also been broadcast in Angola, Syria, Brazil, Romania and Galicia.

Ruca already had musical experience as a contestant on Operação Triunfo. Paulo Vintém was also on the same show, but was eliminated early on.

<i>The Voice Portugal</i> Television series

The Voice Portugal is a Portuguese reality singing competition and local version of The Voice, based on the original The Voice of Holland. The series employs a panel of four coaches who critique the artists' performances, and guide their teams of selected artists through the remainder of the season. They also compete to ensure that their act wins the competition, thus making them the winning coach. The original coaching panel consisted of Rui Reininho, Paulo Gonzo, Mia Rose, and the duo Os Anjos. The current coaching panel, for season 12, features Sara Correia, Fernando Daniel, Sónia Tavares, and Nininho Vaz Maia. In other seasons Mickael Carreira, Marisa Liz, Anselmo Ralph, Aurea, António Zambujo, Diogo Piçarra, Carolina Deslandes and Dino D'Santiago participated as coaches.

Morangos com Açúcar – O Filme is a 2012 Portuguese teen film, directed by Hugo de Sousa and based on the TV series with the same name. It stars Sara Matos, Lourenço Ortigão and others.

In May 2006, several Portuguese teenagers developed symptoms similar to a fictitious disease portrayed in the Portuguese teen soap opera Morangos com Açúcar. The event, which has been called Morangos com Açúcar Virus or Soap Opera Virus, has been deemed an episode of mass psychogenic illness.

Doida por ti is a Portuguese telenovela broadcast by TVI. It was written by Maria João Mira, the working title of the series was Lua de Papel. Doida Por Ti premiered on October 24, 2012. Originally, it ran from Monday to Friday in the hour preceding the news program Jornal das 8, the time slot previously reserved for Morangos com Açúcar. As of September 2013, with the launch of TVI's new telenovela, I Love It, the schedule was reduced to only one episode per week airing on Saturday nights. The series returned to its daily run, although moved towards midnight, on February 6, 2014, and aired its final episode on March 14, 2014.
