Kantrida Stadium is a football stadium in the Croatian city of Rijeka. It is named after the Kantrida neighbourhood in which it is located, in the western part of the city. It has served as the home of the HNK Rijeka football club for most years since at least 1918. The stadium has a distinctive appearance as it is situated between steep cliffs, a remnant of an old quarry, just north of the stadium and the shore of the Adriatic on its south side.

Croatia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 29 times since making its debut at the 1993 contest. The Croatian participant broadcaster in the contest is Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT), which has selected its entrant at the Dora festival since 1993, excluding from 2012 to 2018. Croatia's best result in the contest is a second-place finish in 2024.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Vasko Lipovac</span> Yugoslavian and Croatian artist

Vasko Lipovac was a Yugoslavian and Croatian painter, sculptor, printmaker, designer, illustrator and scenographer and one of the most prominent artists of the region. He is best known for his minimalist figuration and use of intense, unmodulated and often dissonant palette. With the exception of his juvenile period of geometric abstraction, he remained loyal to figuration throughout his whole career. Exceptionally prolific, he worked in various techniques and was equally skilful in using high-polished metal, polychromous wood, enamel, terracotta or polyester to create his sculptures, reliefs and mobiles.

Croatia was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with the song "Marija Magdalena", composed by Tonči Huljić, with lyrics by Vjekoslava Huljić, and performed by Doris Dragović. The Croatian participating broadcaster, Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT), selected its entry for the contest through Dora 1999. Dragović had previously represented Yugoslavia in 1986 placing eleventh with the song "Željo moja".

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Split Suburban Railway</span> Suburban railway network in Split, Croatia

The Split Metro is a suburban railway network in Split, Croatia. The railway was opened on refurbished existing M604 tracks on December 10, 2006. It consists of one line serving seven stations, running from Split centre to Kaštel Stari. The second line between Split centre and Split-Kopilica opened in June 2019, and was discontinued in November 2019. As of 2019, it is planned that new stations will be added along the tracks and the existing stops renovated. The line runs through two tunnels within the city centre of Split; within the longer of the two tunnels a metro-like station (Split-H.B.Z.) will be opened in 2021 to serve the city centre. The line is 17.8 kilometres (11.1 mi) long while an average train ride lasts for 25 minutes. A link with Split Airport and further extension to Trogir is considered, with possible electrification in the long-term.

Alvaro Načinović is a former Croatian handball player who competed for Yugoslavia and Croatia respectively.

Barbara Radulović is a Croatian TV host. She is perhaps best known as a participant in the Nova TV talent show Story Supernova Talents in 2003. After that appearance, Radulović soon had a chance to host the HRT music show Video-kiosk. In 2010, she was working as a host on the Croatian Music Channel, which started on November 5, 2007.

Television in Croatia was first introduced in 1956. As of 2012, there are 10 nationwide and 21 regional DVB-T television channels, and there are more than 30 other channels either produced in the Republic of Croatia or produced for the Croatian market and broadcast via IPTV, cable, or satellite television. The electronic communications market in Croatia is regulated by the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), which issues broadcast licenses and monitors the market. The DVB-T and satellite transmission infrastructure is developed and maintained by the state-owned company Odašiljači i veze (OiV).

Željko Kerum is a Croatian entrepreneur and politician who served as Mayor of Split from 2009 to 2013. He also owned the supermarket chain Kerum until it folded in 2012.

The Kantakuzina Katarina Branković Serbian Orthodox Secondary School, abbreviated as SPOG, is a coeducational gymnasium affiliated with the Metropolitanate of Zagreb and Ljubljana. It is situated in Zagreb, capital city of Croatia, and stands as the only non-seminary high school of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.

Ruža Tomašić is a Croatian politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament from July 2013 to June 2021, having been elected to the position three times. Upon her withdrawal from the Parliament, she retired from politics altogether.

Denis Periša is a political activist, whistle blower and computer hacker from Šibenik, Croatia. He was convicted and criminally charged in September 1999. He was forbidden the use of any form of computer system or the internet for hacking the e-mail of politician Veselin Pejnović while planting a backdoor to his network. He founded the computer security website Jezgra.org in 1997. In 2005, he founded ŠI-WIFI wireless, an organization that was formed for his town.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">M604 railway (Croatia)</span> Railway line in Croatia

Lika railway, officially a part of M604 railway, is a 220 km-long single-track, un-electrified railroad connecting Zagreb-Rijeka line with Knin railway hub. It mostly runs through Lika region. M604 railway is the only operating railway link between continental Croatia and Dalmatia, especially its harbors of Split, Zadar, and Šibenik (M607). Lika railway, finished in 1925, is a key part of this link. The M604 line itself runs from Oštarije/Ogulin on Zagreb-Rijeka railway past Knin, to Split terminus. Its total length is 320 km. Historically, much older Knin-Split section of M604 line used to be known as Dalmatian railway.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">The Dream (Roko Blažević song)</span> 2019 song performed by Roko Blažević

"The Dream" is a song performed by Croatian singer Roko Blažević and written by Jacques Houdek, Andrea Čubrić and Charlie Mason. The song represented Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel. A Croatian language version of the song, titled "Heroj", was released on 18 February 2019. The song was performed during the second semi-final on 16 May 2019, but did not quality for the final.

A presidential election is scheduled to be held in Croatia on 29 December 2024, with a second round on 12 January 2025 if no candidate receives a majority. Incumbent president Zoran Milanović is eligible for a second term. His first term began on 19 February 2020 and will end on 18 February 2025.

Sram is a Croatian teen drama television series, a remake of the Norwegian series Skam. It premiered on 27 October 2024 on HRT 1 and HRTi.
