MasterChef Croatia (Croatian:MasterChef Hrvatska) is a Croatian competitive reality television cooking show based on the original British version of MasterChef . [1] [2]

Contents

The first season premiered on 21 March 2011 on Nova TV [3] and it was hosted by Jasna Nanut. [4] The series went on a hiatus after airing the third season in 2015. In 2021, the series returned with its fourth season and has since been on air regularly as a part of Nova TV's fall schedule. A seventh season is set to premiere in 2024. [5]

Judges

The judges in the first season were Tomislav Gretić, a famous Croatian chef, Mate Janković, one of the youngest Croatian chefs, and Radovan Marčić, a director and a writer. [6] [7]

For the 2021 reboot of the series, a brand new panel of judges was introduced: Damir Tomljanović, Melkior Bašić and Stjepan Vukadin were the main judges for the fourth, fifth and sixth season. Tomljanović and Bašić are set to be replaced with Goran Kočiš and Mario Mihelj for the upcoming seventh season. [8]

Season 7 (2024)

Auditions for season 7 opened in March 2024. [5] For the first time since season 4, the judging panel is set to be revamped: Damir Tomljanović and Meltkior Bašić are set to be replaced with Goran Kočiš and Mario Mihelj; Stjepan Vukadin will, however, remain on the panel. [8]

Presidential elections were held in Croatia on 27 December 2009 and 10 January 2010. Twelve candidates participated in the first round, prior to a run-off between first-round winner Ivo Josipović and runner-up Milan Bandić. In the run-off, Josipović won a landslide victory, receiving 60.3% of the vote becoming the first elected president nominated by the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP). The incumbent president Stjepan Mesić, who was first elected in 2000 as the candidate of the Croatian People's Party and re-elected in 2005 as an independent, was ineligible to seek re-election to a third term due to term limits.

The first season of the Croatian reality television series MasterChef Croatia began on 21 March 2011 and aired on Nova TV, concluding on 17 June 2011 when Šime Sušić was crowned the winner. The season was hosted by Jasna Nanut.

The murder of the Zec family occurred in Zagreb, Croatia on 7 December 1991, during the Croatian War of Independence, when a squad of five Croatian militiamen shot dead three members of a Serb family: Mihajlo Zec, his wife Marija, and their 12-year-old daughter, Aleksandra. Two other Zec children escaped. The murderers were apprehended, but released after a controversial court decision in 1992.

Damir Petravić is a Croatian professional football manager and former player who is currently the manager of Zagorec Krapina.

Naši i Vaši is a Croatian comedy TV series whose pilot episode aired in 2000 on HRT. The first season of the series had seven episodes, and the second and last season's 15 episodes counters.

Jacques Houdek is a Croatian recording artist who represented Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "My Friend". Houdek began his professional solo career in 2000 and has since released many recordings and albums out which 13 have been certified silver, gold, platinum and diamond (once). Houdek is one of the mentors in the Croatian version of the TV talent show The Voice. During show's first season, he mentored the winner Nina Kraljić. Aside from Croatian, he has sung and recorded in English, Italian, German, Spanish, French, Slovene, Macedonian, and Māori language.
