MasterChef Latino is an American competitive cooking reality television series based on the British series MasterChef . It aired on Telemundo from January 14, 2018 to August 11, 2019, for 2 seasons. [1] It was on hiatus for three years until February 10, 2022, when a revival of the series began airing on Estrella TV. [2] The series follows amateur and home chefs competing against one another for the title of MasterChef.

History

The series was announced in May 2017 during Telemundo's upfront presentation for the 2017–18 television season. [3] It premiered on January 14, 2018. [1] The second season premiered on May 19, 2019. [4] In September 2021, Estrella TV acquired the rights to the series. [5] The first season of the revived series, or the 3rd season overall, began airing on February 10, 2022. [2]

Season 1 (2018)

The first season of MasterChef Latino premiered on Telemundo on January 14, 2018, and concluded on April 8, 2018. [1] The season was judged by Claudia Sandoval, Ennio Carota and Benito Molina. The season was won by actress Sindy Lazo, with dog walker Andrés de Oliveira finishing as runner-up. [6]

Season 2 (2019)

The second season of MasterChef Latino premiered on Telemundo on May 19, 2019, and concluded on August 11, 2019. [4] Gaby Espino replaced Aracely Arámbula as host. [7] Claudia Sandoval, Ennio Carota, and Benito Molina all returned as judges. The season was won by vlogger Lauren Arboleda, with businessman Javier Seañez and interior designer John Pardo finishing as co-runners-up. [8]

Season 3 (2022)

The third season of MasterChef Latino premiered on Estrella TV on February 10, 2022, and concluded on May 19, 2022. [2] This is the first season not to have a host. Claudia Sandoval and Benito Molina returned as judges from the previous season, while Adrián Herrera joined as a new judge. [9] The season was won by businesswoman Michelle Mathelín, with medical assistant Neuris Rivera finishing as runner-up. [10]

The first and inaugural season of the Canadian competitive reality television series MasterChef Canada, featuring Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung and Claudio Aprile premiered on CTV on January 20, 2014, and concluded on April 28 with Chinese-Canadian chemical engineering university student Eric Chong named the winner. Filming commenced in September 2013 and wrapped up in November 2013. At the age of 21, Eric was the youngest winner of MasterChef Canada at the time of his victory, a record he held until Beccy Stables became the champion of the show's fifth season at age 19.

MasterChef Vietnam 2015 is the third season of the reality TV show MasterChef Vietnam. The original MasterChef program was developed by BHD Company in United Kingdom with Vietnam Television buying copyright and implementation. Unlike most series around the world, local celebrities will compete for prize money along with amateur cooks. Christine Ha, the first blind and Asian winner for season 3 of US version of Master Chef became the third judge, having been a guest judge in the previous two series and in MasterChef US season 4 and MasterChef US season 6. She is the first former contestant and winner worldwide to become a judge.

Season 1 of the Vietnamese competitive reality television series Junior MasterChef Vietnam premiered on VTV3 on October 2, 2016.

The fourth season of MasterChef Canada originally premiered on March 3, 2017 on CTV before concluding on June 1. In the United States, this season started showing on The Cooking Channel on October 10, 2017. In the finale, Trevor Connie was announced as the winner of the season. Connie also guest starred in an episode of season five. This was the first season to forsake the show's traditional audition phase, instead directly facing the twenty-four finalists with a surprise challenge in their hometowns that would be finished in the MasterChef Canada kitchen.

The first season of MasterChef Junior Thailand, began on 19 August 2018 and aired on Channel 7. Judges by M.L. Pasan Sawasdiwat, M.L. Kwantip Devakula and Pongtawat Chalermkittichai. Program presented by Piyathida Mittiraroch.

The first season of MasterChef Singapore began airing on 2 September 2018 and ended on 21 October 2018 on Mediacorp Channel 5.

The sixth season of MasterChef Canada aired its special 2-hour season premiere on April 8, 2019 on CTV, concluding on June 10, 2019 with Jennifer Crawford of Kingston, Nova Scotia crowned as the winner and Andre Bhagwandat of Scarborough, Ontario finishing as the runner-up. Crawford became the first non-binary person and the first person from the Maritimes to win the competition. In a new twist this season, each judge selected six home cooks to invite to the Top 18, with each member receiving personal invitations delivered via courier.

MasterChef Junior Thailand Season 2 is a reality cooking competition. It premiered on September 22, 2019, on Channel 7, accepting applications for contestants aged 8–13 years. M.L. Pasan Svastivatana, M.L. Kwantip Devakula and Pongtawat Chalermkittichai all returned as judges in this season. Piyathida Mittiraroch also returned as the host.

The seventh season of MasterChef Canada, titled MasterChef Canada: Back to Win, premiered on February 14, 2021, on CTV and concluded on May 16, 2021. Filmed in June 2020, this is an all-star season, featuring returning contestants from previous seasons.

The second season of MasterChef Singapore began airing on 21 February 2021 and ended on 25 April 2021 on Mediacorp Channel 5.

MasterChef Thailand is the fifth season of the Thai version of the competitive reality TV series MasterChef. The show premiered on Channel 7 on February 13, 2022. Pasan Svastivatana, Kwantip Devakula and Pongtawat Chalermkittichai all returned as judges in this season. Piyathida Mittiraroch also returned as the host.

<i>MasterChef</i> (American TV series) season 12 Season of television series

The twelfth season of the American competitive reality television series MasterChef premiered on Fox on May 25, 2022, and concluded on September 14, 2022. Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Joe Bastianich all returned as judges.

The third series of the Cambodian reality television series MasterChef Cambodia began on 26 May 2024 and aired on CTN TV. After 3-year hiatus, Jessica Elite Sethavarat and Ren Nara returned as judges while Su Sophorn Rithy left the show after two seasons and was replaced by chef Sun Meng Hy.

The first series of the Cambodian reality television series MasterChef Khmer began on 19 August 2018 and aired on CTN TV. The show was hosted by Jessica Elite Sethavarat. Elite was also joined by chef Ren Nara at Raffles Hotel Le Royal, and chef Su Sophorn Rithy at One More restaurant, as the judges of the show.
