2013 FIBA Asia U-16 Championship for Women | |||||||||||||
The 2013 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women is the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women. The tournament was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from November 23 to November 30. [1] Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium was the main venue for the entire tournament. [2]
China defeated Japan in the finals, 62–50 to notch their second title, while Korea thrashed Chinese Taipei in the battle for Third Place, 86–64. China, Japan and Korea will represent FIBA Asia at the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women which will be held in Slovakia.
The championship was divided into two levels: Level I and Level II. The two lowest finishers of Level I met the top two finishers of Level II to determine which teams qualified for the top Level of the 2015 Championship. The losers were relegated to Level II.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup is an international basketball competition between the senior men's national teams of the members of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the sport's global governing body. It takes place every four years and is considered the flagship event of FIBA.
The Philippines men's national basketball team, commonly known as Gilas Pilipinas, is the basketball team representing the Philippines. The team is managed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
The Australian women's national basketball team is nicknamed the Opals, after the brightly coloured gemstone common to the country. From 1994 onwards, the Opals have been consistently competitive and successful having won nine medals at official FIBA international tournaments, highlighted by a gold medal winning performance at the 2006 World Championship in Brazil. At the now-defunct regional Oceania Championship for Women, the Opals won 15 titles. Effective in 2017, FIBA combined its Oceanian and Asian zones for official senior competitions; following this change, the Opals compete in the FIBA Women's Asia Cup.
The FIBA Asia Cup is an international basketball tournament which takes place every four years between the men's national teams of Asia and Oceania.
The 2007 FIBA Asia Championship for Men was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the men's basketball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics at Beijing. The tournament was held in Tokushima, Japan from July 28 to August 5, 2007.
The 2007 FIBA Asia Championship for Women was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the women's basketball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics at Beijing. The tournament was held on Incheon, South Korea from June 3 to June 10.
FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship for Women 2008 is FIBA Asia's basketball championship for females under 18 years old. The games were held at Medan, Indonesia.
The 2009 FIBA Asia Championship for Women is the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the World Championship 2010 at Czech Republic. The tournament will be held on Chennai, India from 17 to 24 September.
