The College World Series (CWS), officially the NCAA Men's College World Series (MCWS), is an annual baseball tournament held in June in Omaha, Nebraska. The MCWS is the culmination of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Baseball Championship tournament—featuring 64 teams in the first round—which determines the NCAA Division I college baseball champion. The eight participating teams are split into two, four-team, double-elimination brackets, with the winners of each bracket playing in a best-of-three championship series.

The Valparaiso Beacons is the name of the athletic teams from Valparaiso University – often referred to as Valpo – in Valparaiso, Indiana, United States. The season was the first to have a uniform start date for both southern and northern teams. The change from previous seasons, in which weather allowed southern teams to begin play weeks before northern teams, was an attempt to improve parity between warm-weather and cold-weather teams. The 2012 Horizon League baseball tournament took place from May 23 through 27. All six of the league's teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at UIC's Les Miller Field. Top seeded Valparaiso won their first Horizon League Championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 1997 America East Conference baseball tournament was held at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware. The top six regular season finishers of the league's nine teams qualified for the double-elimination tournament. In the championship game, fifth-seeded Northeastern defeated third-seeded Vermont, 8–1, to win its second tournament championship. As a result, Northeastern received the America East's automatic bid to the 1997 NCAA Tournament.

The event was aired on the Big Ten Network. This was the first time the event was held in Omaha and the first time it featured eight teams.

All six of the league's teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Kapco Park on the campus of Concordia University Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Youngstown State won the tournament for the second time, earning the conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2022 Horizon League baseball tournament will be held from May 25 through 28. The top six of the league's seven teams will meet in the double-elimination tournament to be held at Nischwitz Stadium in Fairborn, Ohio, home field of Wright State. The winner of the tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
