Tracy Michael Woodson (born October 5,1962) is an American former professional baseball player and college coach. He played all or part of five seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB),from 1987 to 1989 and 1992 to 1993,primarily as a third baseman. He recently coached the Richmond Spiders baseball team.
Woodson played college baseball for NC State from 1982 to 1984. [1] His teammates included Doug Davis,Dan Plesac,Doug Strange,and Jim Toman. In 1983,he played collegiate summer baseball with the Hyannis Mets of the Cape Cod Baseball League. [2]
Over his five-year major league career,he played with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Woodson was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers team that won the 1988 World Series. Notably,against the Cincinnati Reds on September 16 of that year,he struck out for the 27th and final out in Tom Browning's perfect game. Woodson pinch-hit for Dodgers right-hander Tim Belcher. His first career home-run came off of Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan.
After his playing career was over,he managed for several years in minor league baseball,where he compiled a record of 443 wins and 468 losses and the 2003 Southern League championship with the Carolina Mudcats. Prior to the start of 2007 season,he was named the head baseball coach at Valparaiso,where he coached for seven seasons (2007–13) and led the program to two NCAA Tournament appearances. Prior to the start of the 2014 season,he left Valparaiso to become the head coach of Richmond. [3]
He also works as a Division I men's college basketball referee. [4]

Edward Nelson Sprague Jr. is an American former Major League Baseball third baseman. He played 11 seasons in the major leagues from 1991 to 2001,with six different teams. He later served as the head baseball coach of the NCAA's Pacific Tigers for 12 seasons,from 2004 to 2015. He is now the Oakland Athletics Director of Player Development.
James Edwin Tracy is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) manager and player. He played for the Chicago Cubs in 1980 and 1981,and has managed the Los Angeles Dodgers,Pittsburgh Pirates,and Colorado Rockies. Tracy was named Manager of the Year in 2009,only the second manager to win the award after being hired mid-season,joining Jack McKeon for the Florida Marlins.
Jeffrey Matthew Duncan is an American baseball coach and former Major League Baseball outfielder for the New York Mets. He is the head baseball coach at Kent State University. Duncan played college baseball at Iowa State University in 1998 before transferring to Arizona State University from 1999 to 2000 to play for coach Pat Murphy. After a standout college career,he would be drafted in the 7th round in 2000 by the New York Mets. He then played in the Major Leagues for the New York Mets in 2003 and 2004. Duncan also played in the San Diego Padres,Los Angeles Dodgers,and Toronto Blue-Jays organizations. He hit and threw left-handed.
Jason Robert Beverlin is an American baseball coach and former pitcher,who is the current pitching coach of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. He played college baseball at Western Carolina as well as in Major League Baseball (MLB) and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He played one season in the United States and three seasons in Japan. He also served as the head coach of Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (2012–2017).

Robert Paul Wine,Jr. is an American former professional baseball player. A catcher,Wine played parts of two seasons in Major League Baseball for the Houston Astros in 1986 and 1987. He last played professional baseball in 1990. He was the head baseball coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2005 to 2013. In 2014,Wine managed the Eugene Emeralds,a minor league team in the San Diego Padres organization.
The NC State Wolfpack baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of North Carolina State University,based in Raleigh,North Carolina,United States. The team has been a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference since the conference's founding in the 1954 season. The program's home venue is Doak Field,which opened in 1966. Elliott Avent has been the head coach of the team since prior to the 1997 season. As of the end of the 2024 season,the Wolfpack have appeared in four College World Series and 34 NCAA tournaments. The 2011 NCAA Division I baseball season play of college baseball in the United States,organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level,began on February 18,2011. The season progressed through the regular season,many conference tournaments and championship series,and concluded with the 2011 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2011 College World Series. The College World Series consisted of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament. Although it was held in its annual location of Omaha,Nebraska,it was played at the newly constructed TD Ameritrade Park for the first time. It concluded on June 29,2011,with the final game of the best of three championship series. South Carolina defeated Florida two games to none to claim their second championship.
