The 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament began on May 15 and ended on May 19, 2013 at Marty L. Miller Field, on the campus of Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. It was an eight-team double elimination tournament. South Division top seed Savannah State won their first tournament championship to claim the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The Tigers defeated Bethune-Cookman, who had claimed thirteen of the fourteen tournament championships, with North Carolina A&T winning the other. [2] [3] [4]
The four teams in the North Division and top four finishers from the South Division were seeded one through four based on regular season records, with first round matchups of the top seed from the North and the fourth seed from the South, the second seed from the North against the third seed from the South, and so on. The winners advanced in the winners' bracket, while first round losers played elimination games. The format means that one team from the South, Florida A&M, was not in the field. Savannah State claimed the top seed from the South over Bethune-Cookman by tiebreaker.

Kyle McGowin was named Outstanding Performer of the Tournament. McGowin was a pitcher for Savannah State, who threw all ten innings of the championship and recorded 11 strikeouts. [4]
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose full members are historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southeastern and the Mid-Atlantic United States. It participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I, and in football, in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament is the conference baseball championship of the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The top three teams in each division participate in the double elimination tournament, which in 2021 was played at Marty L. Miller Field in Norfolk, Virginia. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The automatic bid was granted beginning in 1994.

The 2012 Delaware State Hornets baseball team represented Delaware State University in the sport of baseball during the 2012 college baseball season. The Hornets competed in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Northern Division of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). They played their home games on the university's Dover, Delaware campus. The team was coached by J. P. Blandin, who was in his twelfth season at Delaware State. The Hornets were looking to build upon their 26-29 record from the 2011 season.

The 2016–17 North Carolina Central Eagles men's basketball team represented North Carolina Central University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Eagles, led by eighth-year head coach LeVelle Moton, played their home games at McLendon–McDougald Gymnasium in Durham, North Carolina as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 25–9, 13–3 in MEAC play to win the MEAC regular season championship. In the MEAC Tournament, they defeated Bethune–Cookman, Maryland Eastern Shores and Norfolk State to be champions of the. As a result, they earned the MEAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 16 seed. There they lost in the First Four to fellow No. 16 seed UC Davis.

The 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament took place March 11–15, 2019 at the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, Virginia. The first round games were played on March 11 and March 12, and the quarterfinal games will be played on March 13 and 14. The semifinals were held on March 15, with the championship game on March 16. Bethune-Cookman won the championship game over Norfolk State to earn their first ever bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament.
