Pranas Končius code name Adomas was the last anti-Soviet Lithuanian partisan killed in action. He was shot by MVD forces on 6 July 1965. There still were remaining anti-Soviet partisans, who legalised themselves later or lived illegally for decades to come.
Presidential elections were held in Lithuania on 17 May 2009. A run-off would have been held on 7 June 2009, but was not necessary as Dalia Grybauskaitė was elected with 69% of the vote, with voter turnout just over the 50% threshold for the result to be validated. Grybauskaitė took office on 12 July as the country's first female president.
Deividas Stagniūnas is a Lithuanian former ice dancer. With Isabella Tobias, he is the 2011 Skate America bronze medalist and placed in the top ten at two European Championships. They represented Lithuania at the 2014 Winter Olympics, where Stagniūnas was the flagbearer.
Dalia Grybauskaitė is a Lithuanian politician who served as the eighth president of Lithuania from 2009 to 2019. She is the first and so far only woman to hold the position and in 2014 she became the first President of Lithuania to be reelected for a second consecutive term.

Audronius Ažubalis is a Lithuanian journalist and politician, serving as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania from 2010 to 2012. He was a member of the Seimas 1996–2000, and was elected again in 2004. He has chaired the foreign affairs committee of the Seimas. Ažubalis represents the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats, Lithuania's conservative party and part of the European People's Party.

Presidential elections were held in Lithuania on 11 May 2014, with a second round held on 25 May between the top two candidates from the first round. In the second round, incumbent President Dalia Grybauskaitė was re-elected with 58% of the vote. Second round took place alongside the 2014 European elections.

Butkevičius Cabinet was the 16th cabinet of Lithuania since 1990. It consisted of the Prime Minister, who was the Head of Government, and 14 government ministers from the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, the Labour Party, the Order and Justice, and the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania.
Lithuania competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia from 7 to 23 February 2014. The team consists of nine athletes competing in five different sports. The nine athletes mark the most athletes the country has ever qualified for a Winter Olympics.
Gren Klaipėda, formerly Fortum Klaipėda, is combined heat and power plant in Klaipėda, Lithuania and it uses biomass and waste to produce energy. Originally built in Klaipėda Free Economic Zone by Fortum Heat Lithuania which belongs to Finnish energy company Fortum.

The current first lady of Lithuania is Diana Nepaitė, wife of President Gitanas Nausėda. To date, there has been no official first gentleman of Lithuania. The country's first female president, Dalia Grybauskaitė, who held the office from 2009 to 2019, was unmarried during her presidency.
