Edi Rama Prime Minister of Albania

Edi Rama is an Albanian politician, painter, writer, publicist, former pedagogue and former basketball player who has served as the 33rd and current Prime Minister of Albania since 2013 and chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania since 2005.

Socialist Party of Albania Centre-left Albanian political party

The Socialist Party of Albania is a centre-left, social-democratic political party in Albania. The major left-wing party in the country, it was founded on 13 June 1991. The PS is an associate of the Party of European Socialists and a member of the Socialist International, and holds pro-European views.

Parliamentary elections were held in Albania on 28 June 2009. No alliance achieved 71 deputies on its own needed to form a parliamentary majority. A coalition government was formed by the Democratic Party and Socialist Movement for Integration.

The Albanian local elections of 2011 took place on 8 May 2011 in Albania. Electors were asked to elect their municipality's mayor, municipal council members, municipal unit mayor, and municipal unit members. The elections were administrated by the Central Election Commission of Albania. Only 9 of the 384 winning candidates were women.

2013 Albanian parliamentary election

Parliamentary elections were held in Albania on 23 June 2013. The result was a victory for the Alliance for a European Albania led by the Socialist Party and its leader, Edi Rama. Incumbent Prime Minister Sali Berisha of the Democratic Party-led Alliance for Employment, Prosperity and Integration conceded defeat on 26 June, widely viewed as a sign of growing democratic maturity in Albania.

Lindita Nikolla Albanian politician

Lindita Nikolla is an Albanian politician who is serving as the Speaker of the Parliament since September 10, 2021. Previously she served as the Minister of Education and Sports after the 2013 parliamentary election until May 2017, where she temporarily handed over the post to Mirela Karabina as part of a pre-election agreement between the position and the opposition. Mrs Nikolla was appointed again Minister of Education, Sports and Youth in September 2017 by the Prime Minister Edi Rama role she served until 2019. She was chosen to resume her post as Minister, announced at the General Assembly of the Socialist Party of Albania.

The Minister of State Innovation and Public Administration was a department of the Albanian government responsible for innovation and information and communications technology between 2013 and 2017.

2017 Albanian parliamentary election

Parliamentary elections were held in Albania on 25 June. They had initially been scheduled for 18 June, but after a possible boycott was announced by opposition parties during a political crisis that lasted three months, an agreement was reached between all parties on 18 May to change the date. The Socialist Party won 74 of the 140 seats.

Endri Fuga is the Prime Minister's Edi Rama Director ofCommunications and the personwho runs the current government's media and public affairs strategy. Fuga's long-term cooperation with the Prime Minister datesback to the time when Rama was mayor of Tirana Municipality. Fuga became known as the modernizer of the Socialist Party communications systems, as well as the architect of the 2013 left wing coalition campaign, which was characterized by the massive use of digital communication and social media. Prior to joining Rama at the Municipality of Tirana, Fuga was a civic society advocate, working closely with his friend, current Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj. Fuga has also been contracted as a consultant for different international organizations, like USAID, IRI, the Open Society Foundation in different parts of the world, including Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.

Senida Mesi Albanian politician and professor

Senida Mesi is an Albanian politician and professor. She served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Albania from 13 September 2017 to 17 January 2019. Now she is a member of parliament representing Shkodër.
