The Albania national football team represents Albania in men's international football. It is governed by the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), the governing body for football in Albania. It is a member of UEFA in Europe and FIFA in global competitions. The team's colours reference two national symbols: the double-headed eagle and the country's tricolor. Their supporters are colloquially referred to as the Tifozët Kuq e Zi.
Sport in Albania revolves mostly around team sports, such as football, basketball, volleyball and handball. Other sports includes boxing, weightlifting, tennis, swimming, judo, karate, athletics, table tennis, badminton, rugby, cricket, and chess. Football in particular has seen a rapid transformation, with the Albania national football team making its debut at the 1964 UEFA European Football Championship. The national football team also qualified for the 2016 UEFA European Football Championship. Many Albanian athletes have also achieved significant success and have won European and Mediterranean titles in numerous sports during the years, such as wrestling, football, athletics and weightlifting. Albanian athletes have won a total 49 medals for Albania in 8 different Mediterranean sports.

Omer Nishani was an Albanian medical doctor and political figure involved first in the struggle against Ahmet Zogu in the 1920s and 1930s, and then in the struggle against the fascist occupation of Albania during the 1942–44 period, becoming Chairman of the Presidium of the People's Assembly of the People's Republic of Albania in 1946 and serving in this position until 1953.

Besim Jazexhiu was an Albanian dancer and choreographer. He began to work as a dancer in 1961 at the Opera Theatre. During this early period, in addition to dancing in the ballet troupe, he performed characters in various ballets including "Halili and Hajria" composed by Tish Daija and said to be the first Albanian ballet, "Delina", "Laurenca", "Fadeta", "Sherazadja", and "Peter and the Wolf". In 1965 he started working as a soloist in the Army Ensemble and then from 1968 as a soloist in the People's Ensemble. In this period, he developed folk dances in the Folk Ensemble and for many amateur artistic troupes. After the 1990s, he also worked in Kosovo and North Macedonia.
