The following is a list of events from the year 2022 in Italy.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Italy's economy was affected by a global inflation surge. In January, President Sergio Mattarella was re-elected for a second term. In February, the Italian government responded to the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a partner of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), authorising weapons shipments to Ukraine. Later in the year, a government crisis led to subsequent elections, which brought into office Giorgia Meloni, the first female Prime Minister of Italy.
