<span class="mw-page-title-main">Barbara Stamm</span> German politician (1944–2022)

Barbara Stamm was a German politician of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria. She joined the CSU in 1969, was a member of the town council of Würzburg from 1972, and a member of the Landtag of Bavaria from 1976. She was vice-chair of the CSU from 1993 to 2017, and President of the Landtag from 2008 to 2018, the first woman in the position. She was regarded as the most popular Bavarian politician and as her party's "social conscience".

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jürgen Grabowski</span> German footballer (1944–2022)

Jürgen Grabowski was a German footballer. He played for Eintracht Frankfurt. He won gold medals playing for the West Germany national football team that won the European championship in 1972 and the FIFA World Cup in 1974. Grabowski is considered the greatest Eintracht Frankfurt player ever.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Friedrich Cerha</span> Austrian composer and conductor (1926–2023)

Friedrich Cerha was an Austrian composer, conductor, and academic teacher. His ensemble Die Reihe in Vienna was instrumental in spreading contemporary music in Austria. He composed several operas, beginning with Baal, based on Brecht's play. He is best known for completing Alban Berg's opera Lulu by orchestrating its unfinished third act, which premiered in Paris in 1979.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Volker Lechtenbrink</span> German actor and singer (1944–2021)

Volker Lechtenbrink was a German actor on stage, in film and television, a singer-songwriter, dubbing artist, stage director and theatre manager. He played in the anti-war movie The Bridge in 1959 at age 14. He appeared in popular television series including Der Kommissar, Der Alte and Tatort. Lechtenbrink was stage director at the Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg, and intendant of the Bad Hersfelder Festspiele.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Alice Harnoncourt</span> Austrian violinist (1930–2022)

Alice Harnoncourt was an Austrian classical violinist. She was a pioneer in the movement of historically informed performance, founding with her husband Nikolaus Harnoncourt the Concentus Musicus Wien ensemble playing on period instruments, of which she was principal violinist.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Wilma Lipp</span> Austrian soprano (1925–2019)

Wilma Lipp was an Austrian operatic soprano and academic voice teacher. A long-time member of the Vienna State Opera, she was particularly associated with the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, a role she performed internationally more than 400 times. She was awarded the title Kammersängerin at age 28, and was an honorary member of the Vienna State Opera, among other honours.

Dagmar Elisabeth Schipanski was a German physicist, academic, and politician from Thuringia. Although best known for her 1999 nomination as President of Germany by the conservative Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its sister party, the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU), Schipanski held a variety of political and academic roles during her four-decade-long career and was awarded numerous honors, most notably the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1996.

Peter Minich was an Austrian stage actor who became a tenor performing in operas, operettas and musical films. He was for decades the lead tenor of the Volksoper in Vienna, focused on Viennese operetta.
