The 2014 Eneco Tour was the tenth running of the Eneco Tour cycling stage race. It started on 11 August in Terneuzen and ended on 17 August in Sittard-Geleen, after seven stages. It was the 21st race of the 2014 UCI World Tour season.

Contents

Teams

All 18 teams in the UCI's Proteam category were entitled, and obliged, to enter the race. Two UCI Professional Continental teams were also invited.

Schedule

The race consisted of seven stages, including one individual time trial stage. Just as the previous season, the race finished with a stage including the Muur van Geraardsbergen, which was famous for its presence in the Tour of Flanders single-day race.

UCI World Tour points

The 2014 Eneco Tour was part of the UCI World Tour and so the riders could earn UCI World Tour points. Below is states which riders won points and where. For each stage, points were given to the top five in each stage: 6, 4, 2, 1 and 1. At the end of the tour, the top 10 in the standings receive points as follows: 100, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 and 4. This resulted in the following points being earned during this tour:

Team Qhubeka was a UCI WorldTeam based in South Africa. The team rode to raise awareness and funds for Qhubeka, a South African not-for-profit organisation. The team was founded in 2007 and was the first-ever African team to ride the Tour de France (2015).

The 2010 Eneco Tour was the sixth edition of the Eneco Tour cycling stage race. It took place from 17 August to 24 August 2010 in the Benelux. Like the previous years, parts of the Netherlands and Belgium were covered. It was part of the UCI World Ranking. It began with a short individual time trial in Steenwijk and ended with a longer one in Genk.

The 2011 Eneco Tour was the seventh running of the Eneco Tour cycling stage race. It started with an individual time trial in Amersfoort in the Netherlands on 8 August and finished on 14 August 2011 in Sittard-Geleen, also in the Netherlands.

The 2012 Eneco Tour was the eighth running of the Eneco Tour cycling stage race. It started on August 6 in Waalwijk in the Netherlands and ended on August 12 in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, after seven stages. It was the 20th race of the 2012 UCI World Tour season.

The 2013 Eneco Tour was the ninth running of the Eneco Tour cycling stage race. It started on 12 August in Koksijde and ended on 18 August in Geraardsbergen, Belgium, after seven stages. It was the 20th race of the 2013 UCI World Tour season and was won by Zdeněk Štybar.

The 2014 Giro del Trentino is the 38th edition of the Giro del Trentino cycling stage race. It started on 22 April in Riva del Garda and will end on 25 April on the top of Monte Bondone. The race will consist of four stages; it started with a team time trial on the same route of the first stage in the 2012 edition of the race, and will end on Monte Bondone for the queen stage. The race was part of the 2014 UCI Europe Tour, and was rated as a 2.HC event.

The 2014 Tour of Belgium was the 84th edition of the Tour of Belgium cycling stage race. It took place from 28 May to 1 June 2014 in Belgium, and was a part of the 2014 UCI Europe Tour.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2014 Danmark Rundt</span> Cycling race

The 2014 Post Danmark Rundt was a men's road bicycle race held from 6 August to 10 August 2014. It was the 24th edition of the men's stage race, which was established in 1985. The race was rated as a 2.HC event and formed part of the 2014 UCI Europe Tour. The race was made up of six stages over five days and covered a total of 815 kilometres (506 mi), including an individual time trial. It featured 14 teams, including three UCI ProTeams.

The 2015 Tour of Oman was the sixth edition of the Tour of Oman cycling stage race. It was rated as a 2.HC event on the 2015 UCI Asia Tour, and was held from 17 to 22 February 2015, in Oman. The race was organised by the municipality of Muscat, in collaboration with ASO and Paumer. Chris Froome, the defending champion from 2013 and 2014, was not present to defend his title.

Oliver Naesen is a Belgian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Decathlon–AG2R La Mondiale. Considered a specialist of the one-day classics, he won the 2017 Belgian National Road Race Championships, as well as the Bretagne Classic in 2016 and 2018. He is the brother of fellow racing cyclist Lawrence Naesen.

The 2015 Eneco Tour was a road cycling stage race that took place in the Netherlands and Belgium between 10 and 16 August 2015. It was the 11th edition of the Eneco Tour stage race and was the twenty-first race of the 2015 UCI World Tour.

The 2016 Eneco Tour is a road cycling stage race which took place between 19 and 25 September 2016 in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was the 12th edition of the Eneco Tour stage race and the twenty-sixth race of the 2016 UCI World Tour. It was won by Niki Terpstra.

The 2017 BinckBank Tour was a road cycling stage race that took place between 7 and 13 August in the Netherlands and Belgium. It was a continuation of the Eneco Tour but was renamed following a change in title sponsor. As such, it was the 13th edition, the first one under the name BinckBank Tour. It was also the 29th event of the 2017 UCI World Tour. It was won by Tom Dumoulin.

The first running of the Tour of Flanders for Women, a women's road cycling race in Belgium, was held on 4 April 2004. The race started in Oudenaarde and finished in Meerbeke, taking in nine climbs and covering a total distance of 94 kilometres. It was the fourth round of the 2004 UCI Women's Road World Cup. Russian Zulfiya Zabirova won the race after an attack on the Muur van Geraardsbergen, at 16 km from the finish.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2018 BinckBank Tour</span> Cycling race

The 2018 BinckBank Tour was a road cycling stage race that took place between 13 and 19 August 2018 in Belgium and the Netherlands. It was the 14th edition of the BinckBank Tour and the twenty-ninth event of the 2018 UCI World Tour. The stage race was won by the Slovenian Matej Mohorič.

The 2020 BinckBank Tour was a road cycling stage race that was originally scheduled to take place between 31 August and 6 September 2020 in Belgium. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race was postponed by almost a month. It started on 29 September 2020 and ended on 3 October 2020. It was the 16th edition of the BinckBank Tour and was part of the 2020 UCI World Tour.

The 2021 Benelux Tour is a road cycling stage race that took place from 30 August to 5 September 2021 in Belgium and the Netherlands. It was the first edition of the newly rebranded Benelux Tour and the 17th edition overall. The race was the 26th event on the 2021 UCI World Tour calendar.
