The 2014 Red Bull Air Race of Rovinj was the second round of the 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Championship, the ninth season of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship. [1] The event was held in Rovinj, on the Adriatic coast of Croatia.

Red Bull Air Race World Championship air racing world tournament

The Red Bull Air Race, established in 2003 and created by Red Bull GmbH, is an international series of air races in which competitors have to navigate a challenging obstacle course in the fastest time. Pilots fly individually against the clock and have to complete tight turns through a slalom course consisting of pylons, known as "Air Gates".

Rovinj City in Istria, Croatia

Rovinj is a city in Croatia situated on the north Adriatic Sea with a population of 14,294 (2011). Located on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula, it is a popular tourist resort and an active fishing port. Istriot, a Romance language once widely spoken in this part of Istria, is still spoken by some of the residents. The town is officially bilingual, Italian and Croatian, hence both town names are official and equal.

German pilot Matthias Dolderer wrapped up his first championship with a round remaining, while Chilean pilot Cristian Bolton made his debut as a replacement for the late Hannes Arch.
