Nigel Lamb (born 17 August 1956) is an English aerobatics pilot and the 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Champion.
Lamb was born in the Eastern Highlands of Southern Rhodesia and was inspired to fly by his father, a Royal Air Force fighter pilot iduringWorld War II. Lamb first applied to join the Rhodesian Air Force at 11[ citation needed ], and persisted until he was finally accepted at 18, in 1975, having finished his schooling at Umtali Boy's High School.
After gaining his wings he did an Operational Conversion on de Havilland Vampire jets before becoming a helicopter pilot, flying the Alouette II and Alouette III and Augusta Bell UH1-H in the Rhodesian Bush War. In 1980, following the election of Robert Mugabe, Lamb, by then an instructor, left the Air Force and moved to England to join the Marlboro Aerobatic team. [1] He was a professional display pilot for 36 years, flew 1,900 public displays in over 30 countries worldwide including leading the first civilian aerobatics display team to fly in China in 1996. Nigel was the British Unlimited Aerobatic Champion 8 times consecutively and spent eight years putting his skills to the test in the highly challenging Red Bull Air Race World Championship, winning the 2014 world championship title.
He also featured in some major movie productions as an aerial display pilot flying a variety of historical aircraft including a Spitfire, P-51 Mustang and a P-40 Kittyhawk.
Nigel Lamb is married to successful aerobatic pilot Hilary, and together they have three sons, Max, Daniel and Ben. He enjoys skiing, scuba diving and squash.

Aerobatics is the practice of flying maneuvers involving aircraft attitudes that are not used in conventional passenger-carrying flights. The term is a portmanteau of "aeroplane" and "acrobatics". Aerobatics are performed in aeroplanes and gliders for training, recreation, entertainment, and sport. Additionally, some helicopters, such as the MBB Bo 105, are capable of limited aerobatic manoeuvres. An example of a fully aerobatic helicopter, capable of performing loops and rolls, is the Westland Lynx.
Péter Besenyei is a Hungarian aerobatics pilot and world champion air racer.
Michael Eugene Mangold was an American aviator whose career spanned the United States Air Force, commercial airlines, and aerobatics. Mangold competed in the Red Bull Air Race World Series from 2004 through 2009, where he repeatedly placed first and won the World Championship in the 2005 World Series, as well as the 2007 World Series. His nickname and call sign in the military was "Mongo".

Raynham George Hanna, was a New Zealand-born fighter pilot who emigrated to England to join the Royal Air Force (RAF). During his RAF career he was a founding member of the Red Arrows aerobatics display team. He also founded The Old Flying Machine Company, which commercially flies Second World War vintage fighter aircraft at air displays around the world, and for television and cinematic productions. He was a Spitfire display pilot in the latter half of the 20th century, noted for his daring aerobatic stunt flying.
Paul Bonhomme is a British aerobatic and commercial airline pilot and was owner/race pilot of Team Bonhomme, the Red Bull Air Race World Championship Team from 2003 to 2015.
Alejandro "Álex" Maclean was a Spanish TV film producer and aerobatics pilot, who competed in the Red Bull Air Race World Championship under the number 36. Maclean was nicknamed "The Flying Matador".

After his victory of the whole Challenger Cup in 2014, there were rumors about him moving to Masters; it became a reality for the 2016 season. Dario Costa born to an Iranian mother and an Italian father, is an Italian professional Red Bull Air Race competitor, stunt pilot, aerobatic performer, flight instructor, Pilatus PC6 Porter paradropping pilot and author from Bologna, Italy and is the first ever Italian to qualify, to compete and to win in the Red Bull Air Race World Series. Dario lives in Salzburg, Austria and is also known for various world-first flying stunts and world records including the first and only ever flight through a tunnel with an airplane.
