The 2019 Red Bull Air Race World Championship was the fourteenth and final Red Bull Air Race World Championship series. Red Bull has decided not to continue the Red Bull Air Race World Championship beyond the 2019 season. [1]

Race calendar and results

On 23 January 2019, it was announced that Red Bull Air Race will be held in Chiba on September 7th and 8th at the Muroya's kickoff meeting held in Tokyo. The eight-event calendar for the 2019 season was announced on 29 January 2019. [4]

Races in Indianapolis, USA and Saudi Arabia which were to be held in October and November respectively were cancelled. Two more planned races, one in Europe and the other in Asia, did not have a venue at the time of the calendar reveal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">TCR Touring Car</span> Touring car racing specification

A TCR Touring Car is a touring car specification, first introduced in 2014 and is now employed by a multitude of series worldwide. All TCR Touring Cars are front-wheel drive cars based on 4 or 5 door production vehicles, and are powered by 1.75 to 2.0 litre turbocharged engines. While the bodyshell and suspension layout of the production vehicle is retained in a TCR car, and many models use a production gearbox, certain accommodations are made for the stresses of the racetrack including upgraded brakes and aerodynamics. The Air Race E World Cup is a planned air racing championship run to Formula One rules and adapted for purely electric aircraft. Entrants will design and build electric aircraft to take part in races, flying in groups of 8 around a 5 km oval course marked by 'pylons' at speeds in excess of 250 mph. The series was initially expected to get underway in 2020 and is backed by Airbus, who signed on as founding partner in February 2019. The inaugural series was delayed until 2023 due to the global pandemic.

Dario Costa born to an Iranian mother and an Italian father, is an Italian professional Red Bull Air Race competitor, stunt pilot, aerobatic performer, flight instructor, Pilatus PC6 Porter paradropping pilot and author from Bologna, Italy and is the first ever Italian to qualify, to compete and to win in the Red Bull Air Race World Series. Dario lives in Salzburg, Austria and is also known for various world-first flying stunts and world records including the first and only ever flight through a tunnel with an airplane.
