The 2019 BDO World Professional Darts Championship was the 42nd World Championship organised by the British Darts Organisation, and the 34th and final staging at the Lakeside Country Club at Frimley Green.
Glen Durrant was the two-time defending men's champion after beating Mark McGeeney, 7–6 in the previous year's final.
Durrant successfully defended his title to become the first three times consecutive BDO Men's World Champion since Eric Bristow in 1986, and the first male player in history to win his first three world championship finals.
Lisa Ashton was the two-time defending women's champion, after winning her fourth world title, with a 3–1 win over Anastasia Dobromyslova in 2018, but was defeated in the first round by Mikuru Suzuki.
Suzuki went on to become the fifth BDO Women's World Champion, after defeating Lorraine Winstanley 3–0 in the final. In doing so, she hit the highest ever average in a Women’s World Championship Final.
Three-time champion Martin Adams missed out on the event for the first time since his debut appearance in 1994.

The British Darts Organisation (BDO) was a darts organisation founded on 7 January 1973 by Olly Croft. Made up of 66 member counties, it oversaw professional, semi-professional and amateur darts competitions in Britain. The BDO was a founder member of the World Darts Federation in 1974. It also staged a World Professional Darts Championship from 1978 to 2020.

Lisa Ashton is an English professional darts player who currently plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. She is a four-time BDO World Darts Women's Champion and has won over 100 titles in women's darts. In 2020, she became the first woman to win a PDC Tour Card at the PDC Q-School.

Ted Hankey was the defending men's champion having won the title for the second time in the previous year's final against Tony O'Shea. Anastasia Dobromyslova defended her world title by defeating Lisa Ashton & in doing so, won the world championship for the 3rd time.

She successfully retained her title, by defeating Lisa Ashton 3–0 in the final. Wayne Warren won his first world title with a 7–4 win over fellow Welshman Jim Williams in the final. He became the oldest player ever to win a world title.
Beau Greaves is an English darts player who plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events, where she is currently the Women's World No. 1, and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where she is ranked No. 1 on the Women's Series Order of Merit.
The 2019 One80 L-style World Masters was a major tournament on the BDO/WDF calendar for 2019. It took place from 23 to 28 October at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, Essex, which hosted the PDC World Darts Championship from 1994 to 2007.
