Richard Veenstra (born 10 July 1981) is a Dutch professional darts player who currently plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was the 2019 Dutch Open champion, and the runner-up at the 2019 BDO World Trophy and 2018 Finder Darts Masters.
In October 2014, Veenstra won the Luxembourg Open beating Mark Oosterhuis in the Final 6–4. [2] He reached the semi-finals of the 2015 Denmark Masters and England Open. [3] [4] In October 2015, he won WDF World Cup Pairs with Wesley Harms to beat Scott Mitchell and Mark McGeeney 6–3. [5] On his debut at the 2016 BDO World Darts Championship, Veenstra caused an upset beating compatriot and third seed Jeffrey de Graaf 3–2 in the first round, before beating English player Martin Atkins comfortably 4–0 in the second round. Veenstra then defeated defending champion Scott Mitchell 5–3 to reach the semi-finals, which he narrowly lost to Jeff Smith 6–5.
In September 2016, Veenstra won the WDF Europe Cup singles by beating Jim Williams in the final 7–5, averaging 93.18. In September 2018, he won both the BDO British Open and BDO British Classic in the same weekend.
At the 2022 WDF World Darts Championship, Veenstra recorded the highest three dart average in the venue's history with 104.91, to defeat Luke Littler 3–0 in the last 16. In the quarter-final he almost achieved a nine-dart finish en route to a 4–2 victory against Brian Raman, but missed double 12. Veenstra was defeated in his semi-final match against Neil Duff, losing 5–2.
At 2023 European Q-School, Veenstra secured a PDC tour card for the 2023 and 2024 seasons by finishing second on the European Q-School Order of Merit. [6]
Veenstra enjoyed a run to the third round at the 2024 PDC World Darts Championship in his tournament debut year. Having defeated Ben Robb [7] and the seeded Kim Huybrechts, [8] he fell to a 0–4 whitewash defeat to Dutch compatriot Michael van Gerwen.

Raymond van Barneveld is a Dutch professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number thirty-four, having been the world number one from January 2008 to June 2008. Nicknamed "Barney", although originally known as "The Man", he is a five-time World Champion. van Barneveld is also a two-time UK Open champion, and a former winner of the Las Vegas Desert Classic, the Grand Slam and the Premier League. He is also a two-time World Masters winner, and a former World Darts Trophy champion. He is a three-time winner of both the International Darts League, the Dutch Open, and the WDF World Cup singles event.
Jelle Klaasen, nicknamed The Cobra, is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). In 2006, he became the youngest player to win the BDO World Darts Championship, aged 21 at the time. He also is a Dutch Open champion.
Martin Adams is an English professional darts player who plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Nicknamed "Wolfie", he is a three-time BDO World Champion and three-time World Masters champion. He represents Cambridgeshire at county darts level and was the captain of England from 1993 to 2013, the longest any player has held that role. From his debut in 1994, Adams made a record 25 consecutive World Championship appearances, before failing to qualify for the first time in 2019. Adams was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April 2016, but by the end of the year he was given the all-clear. As well as playing, he also acted as a regular pundit and commentator for televised coverage of BDO events.
Gary James Grant Anderson is a Scottish professional darts player who plays Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number fourteen, having reached a peak of world number two from 2015 to 2016. Nicknamed "The Flying Scotsman", after the famous steam train, he is a former BDO and WDF world number one, and a two-time PDC World Champion, having won the title in 2015 and 2016. He is regarded as one of the best darts players of all time.
Simon Whitlock is an Australian professional darts player who formerly competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, having previously competed in British Darts Organisation (BDO) events. Nicknamed "The Wizard", he won the premier event 2012 European Championship, and the 2022 World Cup of Darts for Australia, partnering Damon Heta. Whitlock is also a two-time World Championship finalist, having been the runner-up at the BDO World Darts Championship in 2008, and the PDC World Darts Championship in 2010. His defeat also made him the only player to have never won a World Championship after reaching the final in both the BDO and PDC.
Stephen Bunting is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number five.
David Chisnall is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number six, having reached a peak of world number five in 2024.
Alan Norris is an English darts player. He was the runner-up at the 2014 BDO World Darts Championship and also lost in the final of the 2012 Zuiderduin Masters, with Stephen Bunting prevailing on both occasions. In 2015, he switched to the PDC and, after reaching the quarter-finals of the 2016 World Championship, he was named the PDC Best Newcomer of the year.
Daryl Gurney is a Northern Irish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number twenty-five, having reached a peak of world number three in 2019. Nicknamed "Superchin", he has won 5 ranking PDC titles, including the World Grand Prix in 2017 and the Players Championship Finals in 2018.
Kim Huybrechts is a Belgian professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was runner-up in the 2012 Players Championship Finals, losing to Phil Taylor 13–6, and made the final of the 2013 PDC World Cup of Darts with his brother Ronny. He has appeared in the Premier League on two occasions.
James Richardson is an English professional darts player who plays in events of the World Darts Federation. He is best known for defeating five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld in the first round of the 2012 PDC World Darts Championship.
Jeffrey de Graaf is a Dutch-born Swedish darts player. He has played in eight World Championships, reaching the last 16 at the 2025 PDC World Championship. He was the runner-up at the 2015 BDO World Trophy, and moved from the BDO to the PDC in 2016. De Graaf reached the quarter-finals representing Sweden, alongside Oskar Lukasiak, at the 2024 PDC World Cup of Darts after a five-year naturalisation period. He has won 4 titles on the PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour and was the runner-up at a PDC ranking event, Players Championship 10, in 2024.
Alan Soutar is a Scottish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won a PDC Tour Card in 2021 and then reached the quarter-finals at the 2022 Grand Slam of Darts. Soutar won his maiden PDC title in 2024.
James Hurrell is an English professional darts player who currently plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is a WDF World Cup and WDF Europe Cup medalist. In January 2022, he became the leader of the World Darts Federation ranking and held this position until November 2022.
Robert Cross is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number four, having reached a peak of world number two in 2018 and 2019. He is a former PDC World Champion, having won the 2018 PDC World Darts Championship, defeating Phil Taylor in the final on his debut, having turned professional just 11 months prior to the event.

He is the reigning PDC World Champion after winning the 2025 World Championship, defeating Michael van Gerwen in the final, where he became the youngest world champion in darts history, at 17 years and 347 days old. Littler has won 11 senior PDC titles and is the reigning Premier League, Grand Slam and World Series Finals champion. He has also won two World Series of Darts titles and the 2023 PDC World Youth Championship.
The 2025 PDC World Darts Championship was a professional darts tournament that was held from 15 December 2024 to 3 January 2025 at Alexandra Palace in London, England. It was the 32nd World Darts Championship to be organised by the Professional Darts Corporation and the 18th to be held at Alexandra Palace. The winner received £500,000 from a total prize fund of £2,500,000.
