Jelle Klaasen, nicknamed The Cobra, is a Dutch professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). In 2006, he became the youngest player to win the BDO World Darts Championship, aged 21 at the time. He also is a Dutch Open champion.
James Martin Wade is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number fourteen, having reached a peak of world number two in 2010. He became the youngest player to win a major PDC title when he won the 2007 World Matchplay at age 24. This record has since been broken by Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler. Wade has won eleven PDC majors, third in the all-time list behind Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.
Premier League Darts, known for sponsorship purposes in 2024 as BetMGM Premier League Darts, is a darts tournament which launched on 20 January 2005 on Sky Sports. Now played weekly from February to May, the event originally started as a fortnightly fixture in small venues around the United Kingdom. The tournament originally featured seven players, gradually expanded to ten by 2013, before reduced again from 2022 to eight players from the Professional Darts Corporation circuit competing in a knockout style format, with nights also hosted in Europe at different venues. The top four players in the PDC Order of Merit are joined by four wildcard selections to make up the eight-person field. Alongside the World Championship and the World Matchplay, it is considered part of the sport's Triple Crown.
Michael van Gerwen is a Dutch professional darts player, who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is currently ranked world number three, having been the world number one from 2014 to 2021. He is also a three-time PDC World Champion, having won the title in 2014, 2017 and 2019. van Gerwen has won 47 premier singles events in all, having won the World Matchplay, UK Open and Grand Slam each three times, he is a six-time World Grand Prix champion, a seven-time Premier League Darts and Players Championship Finals winner, a five-time winner of both the PDC Masters and World Series Finals, a four-time European Champion and the winner of the 2019 Champions League of Darts. He is also a three-time PDC World Cup of Darts champion, partnering Raymond van Barneveld for the Netherlands.
Tony O'Shea is an English professional darts player. His squat figure has resulted in the nickname "Silverback". O'Shea has reached the finals of seven British Darts Organisation (BDO) major darts tournaments, but to date has never won one. He also acted as a regular commentator for televised BDO coverage.
The 2007 Tropicana International Darts League was the fifth and final edition of the International Darts League. It was held at the Triavium in Nijmegen, Netherlands from 4–12 May 2007. The tournament was sponsored by Tropicana — a Dutch-based soft drink manufacturer. Raymond van Barneveld entered the tournament as three-times and defending champion. As in 2006, it was a cross-code event featuring players from both the World Darts Federation and the Professional Darts Corporation.

Ross Montgomery, nicknamed The Boss, is a former Scottish professional darts player who played in both the World Darts Federation (WDF) and the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Montgomery also played American football in his native Scotland, having spent eleven years with Glasgow Diamonds. He was forced to retire through injury and took up the game of darts instead.
Brendan Gabriel Dolan is a Northern Irish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was the first player to hit a nine-dart finish in a "double-to-start" event, which he achieved at the 2011 World Grand Prix, giving him the nickname The History Maker. He also reached the final of this tournament, where he lost to Phil Taylor.
The 2010 Rileys Darts Zones UK Open was the eighth year of the PDC darts tournament where, following numerous regional qualifying heats throughout Britain, players competed in a single elimination tournament to be crowned champion. The tournament was held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England, from 3–6 June 2010, and had the nickname, "the FA Cup of darts" as a random draw was staged after each round until the final.

The British Open is one of the longest-running darts events, having started just a few months after the first ever Winmau World Masters. The tournament used to be televised by the BBC from its inception, but it ceased to cover the event after 1983. ITV took over from 1984-1988, then BSB Sports Channel/Sky Sports covered from 1990-1992 It was often held between Christmas and New Year - the 1975 Championship was actually played in late 1974. The tradition was maintained until near the millennium, when the organisers moved the tournament back to September/October. In recent years the tournament has been televised on Eurosport along with several other BDO tournaments that were previously untelevised.
The Finnish Open is a darts tournament that began in 1981. It was abandoned for a year before being recurred in 1983 where it has been held annually.
