Nicknamed The Power, he dominated darts for over two decades and won 214 professional tournaments, including a record 85 major titles and a record 16 World Championships. In 2015, the BBC rated Taylor among the ten greatest British sportsmen of the last 35 years.

Andrew Fordham was an English professional darts player, commonly known as The Viking. He won the 2004 BDO World Darts Championship and the 1999 Winmau World Masters.

Edward Hankey is an English former professional darts player. Nicknamed "The Count", he won the BDO World Darts Championship in 2000, was runner-up in 2001, and won the title for a second time in 2009. He moved to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tour in 2012, but suffered a stroke while playing Michael van Gerwen at the 2012 Grand Slam of Darts, and took three months away from the sport to recuperate. He lost his PDC tour card in 2014, when he was 94th in the world rankings, and returned to the BDO, where he failed to impress in the latter years of his playing career. In 2016, he made his last appearance in the BDO World Darts Championship, exiting after a 3–0 first-round defeat.

Mervyn King is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. Nicknamed The King, he has reached seven PDC major finals and reached a peak of No. 4 in the PDC Order of Merit.

Martin Adams is an English professional darts player who plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Nicknamed "Wolfie", he is a three-time BDO World Champion and three-time World Masters champion. He represents Cambridgeshire at county darts level and was the captain of England from 1993 to 2013, the longest any player has held that role. From his debut in 1994, Adams made a record 25 consecutive World Championship appearances, before failing to qualify for the first time in 2019. Adams was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April 2016, but by the end of the year he was given the all-clear. As well as playing, he also acts as a regular pundit and commentator for televised coverage of BDO events.

Richard Mark "Richie" Burnett, nicknamed Prince of Wales, is a Welsh professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is a former World No. 1 who won the 1995 Embassy World Darts Championship. Burnett is known for coming on to "Dakota" and dancing on stage. He is also known for his fiery personality, fighting with Adrian Lewis on stage during the 2012 Players Championship Finals.

Tony David is an Australian former professional darts player, who played under the nickname The Deadly Boomerang. He is the only Australian player to have been a senior singles world darts champion, having won the 2002 Embassy World Championship.

Simon Whitlock is an Australian professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments, having also played in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) between 2004 and 2009. Scott Waites is an English professional darts player who plays in tournaments of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He is a two-time BDO World Darts Champion having won the 2013 tournament and 2016 tournament. He is also a former Winmau World Masters champion, WDF World Cup singles' champion, Zuiderduin Masters champion. He also won the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts, becoming the only BDO representative to win the event.

The Scottish Open is a darts tournament organised by the Scottish Darts Association and has been staged every year in February in 1983 and since 1995. The current venue is the Normandy Cosmopolitan Hotel in Renfrew. In 2014 Robbie Green became the first player to win the tournament on more than one occasion, with the previous 20 tournaments won by 20 different players, Wesley Harms has since achieved this feat. In the Ladies Deta Hedman has won the event 7 times including 2023.

The British Open is one of the longest-running darts events, having started just a few months after the first ever Winmau World Masters. The tournament used to be televised by the BBC from its inception, but it ceased to cover the event after 1983. It was often held between Christmas and New Year - the 1975 Championship was actually played in late 1974. The tradition was maintained until near the millennium, when the organisers moved the tournament back to September/October. In recent years the tournament has been televised on Eurosport along with several other BDO tournaments that were previously untelevised.

The England Masters is a darts tournament that has been held annually since 2009.

The Hungarian Classic is a darts tournament held in Budapest, Hungary. Tournament was sanctioned by the World Darts Federation. The event has been organized every year since 1999. Three editions of this tournament were held in Győr. Hungarian Classic is a part of the Hungarian Masters weekend.

The Malta Open is an annual darts tournament on the WDF circuit that began in 1986.

Noel James Kyle Anderson was an Australian professional darts player who played within the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) from 2012 to 2021. He won the 2017 Auckland Darts Masters tournament.

The Dry Blackthorn Cider Masters was a darts tournament organised by the British Darts Organisation that started in 1983 and ended in 1989.

The Butlins Grand Masters was a former Major darts tournament organised by the British Darts Organisation and televised by ATV/Central between 1977 and 1986. The event was sponsored by the holiday and leisure company Butlins.

The 2017 Melbourne Darts Masters was the inaugural staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, as a fifth entry in the 2017 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players and was being held at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne between 18–20 August 2017.
