From 2014 a new tournament was created which would coincide with the Isle of Man Open, this was called the Isle of Man Classic. The weekend in which both tournaments occurred was then known as "The Isle of Man Darts Festival".

Edward Hankey is an English former professional darts player. Nicknamed "The Count", he won the BDO World Darts Championship in 2000, was runner-up in 2001, and won the title for a second time in 2009.
Martin Adams is an English professional darts player who plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Nicknamed "Wolfie", he is a three-time BDO World Champion and three-time World Masters champion. He represents Cambridgeshire at county darts level and was the captain of England from 1993 to 2013, the longest any player has held that role. From his debut in 1994, Adams made a record 25 consecutive World Championship appearances, before failing to qualify for the first time in 2019. Adams was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April 2016, but by the end of the year he was given the all-clear. As well as playing, he also acted as a regular pundit and commentator for televised coverage of BDO events.

He also won the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts, becoming the only BDO representative to win the event.

Daryl Gurney is a Northern Irish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Nicknamed "Superchin", he is a winner of two majors, having won the World Grand Prix in 2017 and the Players Championship Finals in 2018.
Ronnie Baxter is an English former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He used the nickname "The Rocket" for his matches. Baxter was known for his fast robotic throwing action. He currently resides in his hometown Blackpool. Baxter is widely regarded as one of the best players never to have won a major TV title. He is still active on the exhibition circuit.
The Scottish Open is a darts tournament organised by the Scottish Darts Association and has been staged every year in February in 1983 and since 1995. The current venue is the Normandy Cosmopolitan Hotel in Renfrew. In 2014 Robbie Green became the first player to win the tournament on more than one occasion, with the previous 20 tournaments won by 20 different players, Wesley Harms has since achieved this feat.
