The 2019 World Wushu Championships was the 15th edition of the World Wushu Championships. [1] [2] It was held at the Minhang Gymnasium in Shanghai, China from October 20 to October 23, 2019.

The 2015 World Wushu Championships was the 13th edition of the World Wushu Championships. It was held at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia from November 14 to November 18, 2015. Starting with this rendition of the WWC, the top-eight finishing athletes in taolu events would qualify to compete in the Taolu World Cup.

Ng Shin Yii was a Malaysian wushu athlete. She retired at age 27 from international wushu after competing at the World Taijiquan Championships in Poland. She competed in the Taijiquan and Taijijian taolu events. Up until her retirement in 2016, she had represented Malaysia in every World Wushu Championships since 2009, winning one silver and one bronze in the 2009 and 2015 Championships respectively. She competed in the first two World Taijiquan Championships in Dujiangyan and Warsaw achieving three silver medals. At the age of 17, she won a bronze medal at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.

Hoàng Thị Phương Giang is a wushu taolu athlete from Vietnam. She made her international debut with a bronze medal victory at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. Her most notable victories include a bronze medal in women's changquan at the 2018 Asian Games, and gold medals in the 2013 and 2017 Southeast Asian Games. Hoàng is also a four-time medalist in the World Wushu Championships, double bronze medalist in the Taolu World Cup, and double silver medalist in the Asian Wushu Championships.
