Praveen Kumar is a sanda fighter from India. He became the world champion at the 2019 World Wushu Championships in Shanghai, China in men's Sanda 48 kg, and thus became the first Indian male athlete to a win gold medal at Wushu World Championships. [2] [3] [4]
He also won a silver medal at the 2016 Asian Wushu Championships in Taoyuan, Taiwan, in the men's Sanda 48 kg category. [5] In domestic competition, Kumar won a silver medal in the 2014 junior nationals in and a gold medal at the 2015 senior nationals. [6] He is currently serving in the Indian Army. [7]
Sushil Kumar is a former Indian wrestler and two-time Olympic medallist. His 2008 Olympic medal was only the second for India in wrestling, and the first since Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav's bronze medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics. In July 2009, he received the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna – India's highest honour for sportspersons. On 3 October 2010, Kumar handed the Queen's Baton to Prince Charles in the Queen's Baton Relay for the 2010 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. He carried the Indian flag at the opening ceremony of 2012 London Olympics. Sushil won the gold medal in the 74 kg division at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Ramesh Kumar is an Indian wrestler, who the bronze medal in the Men's 74kg Freestyle Wrestling event at the 2009 Wrestling World Championship in Herning, Denmark.
Shiva Thapa is an Indian boxer. Thapa participated in the 2012 London Olympics, and was the youngest Indian boxer to qualify for the Olympics. Subedar Amit Panghal is an Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and an amateur boxer. He won silver medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships in the Flyweight division.
